This is from the tutorials section on how to replace the rear spring http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=32414.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=32414.0) useful video, sorry I don't have more.

I would also suggest a manual (LT Snyder if you can), it will help you avoid common pit-falls.

It's easier than it looks.  When took mine off a few years ago, I used only the parts catalog.

+1. Parts catalog will tell you everything that needs to come out. Besides the obvious, is the bolt with the plastic cap at the end. use a soft wooden dowel  to drift it out.

There is a bolt/nut on the left side that acts like a lock for the main  pivot bolt. It's covered by a rubber plug.  When sliding the pivot bolt out there are shims  that need to be saved.

I recommend buying zip lock bags and marking everything when it is disassembled.  Helps a whole lot when it all gies back together.

Lots and lots of photos.  I'm pretty sure my old van wouldn't have gone back together if it weren't for me sitting in front of my laptop trying to figure out what part I was holding and where it went.  I wasn't much of a mechanic back then :)

Are you going to take out the eccentric gear too?  If you are you are going to need a big ass pair of C clip pliers. I got mine at a specialty hardware store for about $30..... Channel Lock brand.

I did mine last year to powder coat. I'll try to help out as best I can.
