There are a couple of camping areas.  One is more of an RV type camp site.  The other is  called the ampitheatre and is just up Red Mountain Pass.  The RV one would be an easy drunken stroll.  The other would be an uphill walk home

Is T-Byrd gonna be there?

Not to my knowledge.  We have tried to contact her a couple of times.  We hear that she knows what is going on and that she knows we would like her to go.

Title: DitR His it's own official Cocktail

DitR Official Signature Cocktail
Though a close personal friend and Aprilia rider (don’t hold that against him) we were able to get world renowned Mixologist Charlotte Voisey to personally design Ducati in the Rockies it’s own signature cocktail.   The DitR Italian Margarita.  It is made with Solerno, a Sicilian Blood Orange Liqueur made in Italy and it is amazing.

The bar at the Best Western Twin Peaks will have all the ingredient to make this delicious drink on site.

Here is a link to the drink:

LF Someone or someones to share a condo. We are grabbing the 1 bedroom condo at the same place the New Mexico folks are staying. It has a queen size sofa sleeper available if anyone is interested for $150. Let me know ASAP as we have to have the reservation in to either the condos or the hotel by Tuesday. This is sort of a make it or break on the trip for me. I need to keep lodging as close to or below $300 as possible. Let me know!

DitR 2011 Hotel Room Update:

Today is the “drop-dead-date” for the reserved room at the Best Western Twin Peaks in Ouray, CO.  I am happy to say that we have filled every reserved hotel room and one condo.  The only accommodation left at the BWTP is one 3 bdrm/ 2 bath condo that will sleep up to six people.  They will hold this condo today only.  You will need to call them directly and say that you are with “Ducati in the Rockies” to get their discounted rate, if you want this condo.

There are plenty of places to stay in Ouray and I am sure that if you decide to come last minute something can be worked out.  If you need additional information, please let me know.

So far this is looking to have a bigger turn-out than last year.

Titty

A group of us will be leaving Friday morning, August 12th, from the MoCo (Morrison Conoco)
We will be meeting up at 7:00am and leaving at 7:30am sharp.
Last year we went to Woodland Park and then took 24 to Buena Vista.  This year some have suggested taking 285 instead.  We will finalize our route on Friday morning.

If you have any questions about DitR 2011, please let me know.

Absolutely, DDGM!  Happy to do it.  We are going to have a blast.

We are hoping for 60 to 70 people this year.  Last year we had a little over 40, I think.

Next year, the goal is 100 Ducati Hooligans in Ouray!

A Review of Ducati in the Rockies 2011

2011 was a great year for Ducati in the Rockies (DitR).  Attendance was up and we saw several new faces among our old friends.  We had approximately 70 people from seven states.  The food at the Saturday BBQ was a huge hit, as were the Italian Margaritas served at the Best Western’s Tiki Bar.  Both of these will be back next year along with some new ideas we are already working on.

Next year’s Ducati In The Rockies will be August 10th - 13th.

We’re already planning to make next year’s event even better.  DitR has a new website with more photos, more detailed ride maps and the latest event information.  Be sure to check out the new 10 minute ride video on YouTube showing a quick run to the top of Red Mountain Pass (Million Dollar Highway).  We also have a new FaceBook page that will better serve our event.

Please contact us and let us know if you have any questions or comments.
