Title: Selling hard-to-find body work
Post by: remy on June 10, 2008, 10:20:22 PM
Before I post these for sale anywhere else I thought I would make these available to the MOB. I have for sale the very hard to find brushed aluminum Monster front fender and the matching brushed aluminum rear seat cowel.
I bought these from Hattar, which was pretty much the only shop I could find that still had access to these. I was told I received one of the last sets of the aluminum parts offered. I checked today and they no longer offer them, which makes me think they're finally gone for good.

This is a shot of the front fender (this wasn't taken by me, though mine is in perfect condition with about 200 miles max)

This is a shot of my bike wearing the rear seat cowel. There is a little bit of visible black "scratches" caused by the rubber on a tail bag I put over the cowel once. For some reason the rubber left couple of very thin black streaks that I haven't cleaned off yet (they don't come off with soap/water). As you can see in the picture, they aren't visible in direct sunlight, but they show up in the shade and indoor lighting.

Brand new these were 230 for the front fender and about 170 for the rear seat cowel. I would prefer to sell them as a set. I was thinking 300$ sounds good (about 100$ less than I paid).

Bump for awesomeness.

I haven't been tempted to buy much for the streetbike lately, but these have me drooling.  Alas, no funding given a stinkin' wedding coming up, but hey, if you want to give me something for my birthday... (it's the 21st.   [cheeky])

I tried to tempt Duck-Stew with 'em, but they don't fit his plans.

Good luck!  [thumbsup]

Bump for awesomeness.

Thanks. These are just begging to do the full-on Mad Max treatment (matte paint, raw aluminum, megaphones, clip-ons), but I have different plans for my bike now (touring!).

Bump bump.

If I don't hear from anyone by this weekend I'll post these on the main monster site and probably Craigslist as well.
