Motorcycle Loading Fail (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NA8q7UbcFEc#normal)
I've seen people drop bikes using narrow tire width ramps... but that guy had a three foot wide ramp to go up!!!one!!eleven.
why did he stop???
i rode my bike up a 2 foot wide ramp into a box truck. I wouldnt of been so scared except for the fact that i was riding straight into 2 other bikes and had to stop short very quickly.
But this guy just doenst have the balls!
More evidence the majority of cruiser riders don't know how to ride a motorcycle.
1) It looked liked he was backing up to do an Evil Kenevil Jump.
2) Ok, so it was a long ride up the ramp....you can tell the driveway was down sloped, so why didn't they pull the truck down onto the street and lower the incline of the ramp before he ruined his day like that?
3) humm here's a thought...if it were
my first time doing that, I'd have put on a helmet...for obvious reasons.
4) The two people sitting in the chairs in the garage knew it was going to be interesting...they were ready for a show.

Oh yeah, they knew or at least expected that something dumb was going to happen.
I was trying to find a longer version of that vid Dave... or there's another similar one. I think it's a different one actually, same set up, but he takes the front wheel off the ramp just shy of the top with predictable results.

Oh no... just look around and you'll find plenty of stupid astride of a sport bike too...
I don't think he would've cleared the top of the ramp anyway. My monster barely made it into a UHAUL like that without me on it. The only reason we got it in w/o any hassle was because we shoved it in really fast w/ 3 guys. I scraped exhaust at the top of the ramp taking it out.

well, the roads are a LOT wider than those ramps... ;D

He wasn't going fast enough for momentum to help him up the ramp. You hear the motor spin up because there isn't enough traction to push the bike up the ramp.
Still, stupid and many ways to make it easier. One of which is pull the front wheels of the truck up on blocks.
JM
[laugh] Those are all funny! :D
What a bunch of asshats though...there are like 10 guys there. I know the bike weighs as much as a Honda Civic, but you think a few of them could have just pushed it into the truck.

What was this guys plan if he'd managed to get the bike on the ramp? Levitate along next to it all the while still pushing?
These videos are the exact reason that I left the trailering of my bike to the guys at the shop.

*pounds head thinking, "Why the hell did I forget my ramp?!"*
with all of the people in the video on the OP, I'm wondering why they didn't just push the bike into the truck?
I think that first video was a "here, hold my beer and watch this" moment.

They wanted to see him fail. Why else? The guys by the ramp weren't anywhere near close enough to save the bike from a tip over but were in a good spot to help him from falling on his head. The guys int he chair had the right idea getting comfy for the show.

the motor spins up because he panicked and pulled the clutch in. he even "blips" the throttle.
Oh, oh well, I thought it came up because it lots traction ~

i could be wrong, but i'd be really surprised if something that heavy would lose traction on a ramp like that.
i've loaded my share of bikes in trucks with ramps. i generally find a way to get the truck's front wheels higher than the rear (reduce the distance from the tailgate to ground), use an "arched" ramp (to avoid high-centering on the tailgate), and use a step stool on the ground in front of the tailgate so i can just walk beside the bike while i "walk it up" the ramp in 1st gear while modulating the throttle/clutch.
it's a pretty easy, no-rush way to do it.
I have seen my br-in-law ride a HD up a 5' long 8" wide ramp that is way too short for the trailer he has several times. He is a lifetime rider, originally on dirt bikes, and he just guns the bike up it. The ramp bends like he11, but he makes it every time. I think loading bikes in 95% mental and 5% physics.

Like an art student metal sculpture. As long as they don't
know that it's physically impossible to make, they'll make it anyway and mount it on the lawn in front of the engineering building and defy physics all damned day.
Damned hippies. >:(

Here we go again. My Roadstar NEVER fell while being driven up a ramp by yours truly and that pig weighed 800 lbs. Each one of these bikes were being handled by novice.
Well at least they were trying to go up a ramp. :D

ducati 748 low speed crash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8LgwL2yaU8#normal)
I am terrified of ramps. After my first wreck (yamaha 400cc 1987 bike I think), a coworker and I were loading the bike onto a pickup. All I heard was a big crash sound as it fell from the ramp. Scary. It did not matter as it was a totalled bike anyhow.
So now, the few times I load my bike, I am trembling and nervous as hell.
