I know I know I know.  I can't get a replacement red key for a bike I bought just recently but I knew the risk and was planning on disabling the immobilizer, after all it was a steal of a price.  My question is that I was told because I have a late model 2002 M900 they couldn't do it on this bike so they can re-chip a black key and have the same effect as a red key.  Is this true or even possible?  Has anyone been told this or even had this done?  If so please share your thoughts.
Thanks

Subject: ducati red key replacement
I was informed that you are able to replace a red key for my 05 ducati monster 620,
I only have one black key and nothing else (no red key, spare black key, or code card.)
are you really able to do this and what would it involve? how much do you charge if so?
thank you, Justin Colcord.
Yes, as long as it has the original Marelli instrument cluster we can program a red key for you. You will need to ship us the instrument cluster and black key. The charge is $350 and we will provide a red key, a duplicate black key, and the electronic override code.
Alternatively, you can just ship us the black key and we can make duplicates for $40 each. You can get as many as you like.
 Thank you,

I think i would rather just send my ecu out to get the immobilizer taken off
and set up for slipons and open airbox. but kind of cool that the offer the service.

Just contacted SOS Diagnostics about replacing a key I lost the last time I moved, and Chad got back to me today.  Sunday.  Within like 2 hours.  They have my business.  $40 for a well cut stainless steel chipped key is a bargain.

I figured I'd send an email as well......14 hours ago. no response  :-\

i got a  response a couple hours after...id just call em

Yep.  Called them Monday, they were very helpful.

I got my email.  for that price I'm getting a key.  ;D
