Title: Ducati Key found
Post by: shortbus on January 13, 2011, 05:01:20 AM
Hi folks, one of my friendly neighbors found a Ducati key laying around the development and was nice enough to leave it by my door as he has noticed me working on my Monster a couple of times. Thing is this key isn't mine, so if any1 has recently lost a Ducati key or knows any1 who has, let me know!

Well I had figured I'd ask that to whoever said it was theirs as a means of making sure its their but whatever  ;D
it's an old style key.

The yahoos at the shop lost mine (and replaced it).  [bang]

Any chance it looks like this:

Sorry not it. Here's a terrible phone pic, pardon the quality...

is there a number at the top of the key?  on the metal, right next to the black plastic?

errr, ah, no number on either side. I tried to take a better pic, emphasis on "tried".

IIRC on that generation of key, if there is no number at the top then it's a copy they had made at the dealer.

my original factory keys on my SS bikes have a lock code at the top.

It's a pretty big deal that you found him.  Better yet that you tried.

Return of lost property is a big mitzvah.

Thanks, actually he turned out to be my neighbor too (had just brought his 748 out from storage). I told him I had dibs on that thing when he decides to sell it, she'd make a nice bigger sister for my Monster   assuming I can tippy toe it ;D
