Title: 2012 Triumph Trophy
Post by: Travman on January 19, 2011, 10:35:14 AM
All new tourer from Triumph. If I'm not mistaken this will be their first shaft driven bike.

I'd rock it.  Then again, I'm a fan of big, ugly, shaft driven bikes :)  IMO, touring bikes are not meant to be pretty.  Touring bikes are functional and should be nothing more than the most robust of parts that can handle a few hundred thousand miles of road hell.

Given that its a tourer, not even a sport-tourer, the heft is no big deal. Look, the Trophy is going up against the K1300/1600 & Gold Wing, and none of those bikes are light weights.

I like the looks of it. A triple motor with "at least 1200 cc" would have to be a rockin' good time. I'm a little surprised at this move, given the recent revisions for the touring version of the Sprint, but what the hey. I can't wait to see one in person.
