Hi guys,
got a new 796 and, while the dealer assured me that i had to bring the bike back to them to adjust the chain, it's really something i would prefer to do myself. used to take care of all my basic maintenance on my old sv650 myself so i'm pretty comfy with the work.
i've looked up the instructions on this site on how to adjust, but i'm a bit confused on what spanner to buy... is there a size i should be looking for in particular? i'm not too comfy with the flathead screwdriver/hammer method... would rather not chance slipping up and whacking something i would regret later.
also, offhand, what's the best site to get a downloadable maintenance manual from? google searchs tend to be pretty bad on this... they'll have the other monsters, but nothing on the 796 yet...
Thanks for any help on this :D

You might want to call first to confirm fitment for a 796.

+1 (If it fits 848 or M1100 it will fit M796 too).
Here's an another which will certainly fit >> http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=589|Tools&productID=7757&showDetail=1&categoryID=591|Moto%20Tools&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=588|Stands%2C%20Tools%2C%20Supplies%2C%20%26%20Fluids (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=589%7CTools&productID=7757&showDetail=1&categoryID=591%7CMoto%20Tools&vendoridtodisplay=0&filterFor=&collection=588%7CStands%2C%20Tools%2C%20Supplies%2C%20%26%20Fluids)
Awww, dammit. I would have bought that motowheels spanner in a heartbeat if I'd known about it. Too bad my new one just arrived Wednesday :(
thanks a lot for the info guys :D
i'll go and order it now... before i had to put it away for the winter, i kept on hearing that chain slap against the swingarm... i figured it kinda really needed to be tensioned... especially with the stretch on a new chain :)
