Would this be an improvement over the stock 620 suspension? Will it fit? Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: junior varsity on January 21, 2011, 01:42:50 PM somebody will know whether it will bolt up or not, but whether the spring it has on it is right for your weight or not is likely something you'll also need to consider.

I am 215 pounds of American man I suppose is my biggest problem. ;D Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: Jarvicious on January 22, 2011, 08:17:13 AM I feel your pain :)
Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: GoTeamV on January 24, 2011, 08:27:59 AM I sat on a Speed Triple the other day and I liked how it felt like I was sitting higher and the suspension sagged less when I sat on it. I am looking to recreate that posture with my Monster 620. I figured it'd be easier to by a shock/spring combo from a different Ducati and replace it. Am I wrong?
Any help at all would be nice. Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: atomic410 on January 24, 2011, 02:13:11 PM adjustable dog bone [bacon]

Post by: GoTeamV on January 24, 2011, 03:46:37 PM adjustable dog bone [bacon] So is there a Ducati (or other make/model) that has something that will bolt right up? I from a search on here know a 748 has an adjustable rod that is compatible. Would an entire used suspension from a 748 be a good way to go? This is adjustable I believe. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-748-916-996-Rear-Shock-Link-B-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255ec6001fQQitemZ160503824415QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2198wt_939 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-748-916-996-Rear-Shock-Link-B-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255ec6001fQQitemZ160503824415QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2198wt_939) Title: Re: Will this work? Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: orangelion03 on January 24, 2011, 07:24:59 PM RaceTech is an excellent source for springs and all things suspension in general. They have a spring rate calculator that allows you to select a spring that more closely matches your weight and riding style.

Though I have since purchased a set of S2R1000 forks (to which I added Race Tech springs), the single largest improvement in feel and handling to my stock S2R800 was fitting stiffer springs all around. I'm starting to feel like the 696 is beginning to to become forgotten to aftermarket manufacturers. Title: Re: Will this work? Title: Re: Will this work? Post by: GoTeamV on January 26, 2011, 07:02:24 PM So has anyone used a end link from a 748 on their monster?
I have looked at my non-adjustable and there are no threads...does this mean that any dogbone with threads on either end is adjustable? |
