Nice...but did they (Ducati) have to use that dumb exhaust on the monster from the Diavel?

Rhetorical.

I think the exhaust looks great.

We're all entitled to our own opinions - I just think it (the exhaust) looks cheap and it cheapens the look of the Monster.

I like the new stock exhaust better than the old stock exhaust, but that said the stock exhaust is not going to last long anyway  ;D

I'm not a fan of the exhaust, either, though I'm sure there will be some cool after-market options.

imho it woulve looked better if its a short single exhaust instead of the doublestack that they used.

Excuse me...........but that guy didn't do a good job selling the bike.   [thumbsdown]
He fumbled all the way through and didn't know the bike well enough to make his point known.  Maybe I'm being critical but I'm in sales and you should know your product.   [bang]

JP? he knows it pretty well, the guy asking questions didn't want to know about the bikes, but rather wanted to know about how the marquee brand was changing to adapt to the new economic conditions... it was cnn money afterall. He wasn't asked "why is the clutch wet now?"

I really dig the evo exhaust over the stock 696/796/1100 exhaust.  The open wheel space is something I've always kinda followed on a motorcycle and the Evo exahust reminds me of the Streetfighter cans or even some pretty rad shorty shotgun cans I've seen on a couple of pics here.

Except the Streetfighter exhaust cans don't look like plastic.

while i understand the extra bends related to making equal length headers, i sure think that looks dumb.

It doenst look bad, it doenst look good.

Its economical. and it loosk bad enough to make people buy aftermarket.

mission accomplished.

I never knew that the S1000RR/K1300S/etc. didn't have TC/ABS!  Good to know  ;)

When was the last year when you saw a stock exahust that looked decent though? Nothing's going to be as nice as the stuff we throw on aftermarket.  I just think they got the location right on this model, as opposed to the base model stuff.

You mean "does" have TCS/ABS?  I've heard the s1000rr is nigh impossible to ride without it.

The headers are more of an issue for me; the cans aren't too bad.

True enough.  The stock Sport 1000 exhaust for 2006 looked ridiculous!  I also didn't like the 696/1100 exhaust originally, but I actually like it now with the new style heat shield (either that, or I've gotten used to the design ;)).  I actually like the looks of my stock 796 cans better than most of the aftermarket slip-ons; I just wish they made a bit more noise.

I agree. In thinking about that, I think that the last stock exhaust that I was fond of was the low mounted single cans that the earlier monsters sport - same as I have now but updated to CF. Not saying I don't like the single sided ones, just not on a double sided swing arm. Good point though.  [thumbsup]

on the contrary - muskrat has highmount cans, one on each side of his S4R - a sss bike. I like how it leaves the wheel open and gives the bike symmetry from the rear. (like if you are slow enough to have to follow him)

the gt1000 has decent enough looking cans especially for a 'classic' themed bike. kind of fit the bill, y'know?

good have done the math to do equal volume flow and pressure using varying diameters rather than extra bends and length...  looking forward to seeing a dry clutch conversioned, aftermarket exhausted '11 M1100

You've heard wrong. Most of the local racers turn off the TC on the S1000RR. I don't believe ABS is allowed.

The thing that originally attracted me to the S2R was the way the pipes looked. Then I got one, and it was one of the first things that had to go. I have seen many Streetfighters and the pipes looked OK to me. Not the biggest fan of the overall New Monster, so I am not going to belly-ache about the pipes.

For bikes manufactured during/after 2013?  SB435 made it illegal to alter/replace your stock, EPA stamped exhaust system with anything from the aftermarket, no?

I agree with Dave. If you have a SSS, why are you going to block the wheel with some ugly ass cans? I will wait until I see the Termis. If not I would look at if the underseat exhaust will fit the Evo.

It's illegal to tint your windows, modify your car exhaust, not run a front plate, etc, etc. I don't foresee SB435 being a big deal.

i have to agree with hbliam here, that new law won't make that much of a difference if you just keep the db killers in your termi or aftermarket exahust or just slightly modify the db killers to be a little louder than stock.

i have a feeling the law will really only be used when someone is running straight pipes or fully open termi and purposefully being loud.  but hey i could be wrong.

it will make for some sweet aftermarket ideas for companies though... i like / wish i had...

They will likely just use it as an additional infraction for which they can ticket you when you are pulled over for something else.

I enjoy my rides but I think I might have to pull out the stops on your ass soon.

I still think they could have designed a better exhaust regardless.  Just my opinion but I'm not buying one.

the '1' segment would be the crossover. the ultimate cross over. the car pool lane for escaping exhaust.

All true, You described my truck and most others. There are already laws for all these things that don't get enforced. I hope this new law is not actually something serious, like Ducati not selling exhaust systems in California.   >:(

BTW, is that a Cali law?

Cali. for now, with law makers hoping other states to follow lead, this was said in one of the articles about the new law.
