Title: I hate eBay...Question
Post by: RAT900 on January 28, 2011, 10:59:49 PM
Is there any way to block a seller's listings when doing a search?

I am always looking for vintage Matchless/Norton parts for this insane resto project I am doing

and I am weary of wading through 11ty billion weasel-worded ads for cheap, non-NOS, out-of-spec, knock-off junk listed by 1 or 2 individuals

Also I am not interested in looking at listings by people whose feedback is swirling around in a cesspool of buyer-hatred

I can't find anything on their Help pages that allows me to filter anything beyond the miles from my home zip code

I think a lawsuit might be called for since eBay is accommodating unscrupulous peddlers and downright thieves......

Did you go to the advanced search page?  You could probably exclude most of them there with search parameters but I didn't see where you can exclude specific sellers.  That would be a nice feature

DAN is correct. Do the search, then go to advanced search and part of the way down you can "include/exclude" a seller.

when you do a "regular" search, in the seller section on the left side of the page there is an option to "specify sellers".

that produces a popup that will allow you to "only show items from [specific sellers] [exclude] <name>"

You can also limit a search by putting a minus before what ever you want to keep out of the search.

example search for norton vintage would be vintage norton parts -useless -whatever

No space after the minus.............. ;D

Thanks folks I got it sorted out with the advanced options now

but you still have to reaffirm your exclusions each time you go do a search...

You can save a search with all the parameters intact.
