Title: My kid's ears
Post by: Privateer on June 11, 2008, 07:09:11 PM
Some of you may remember from DML (makes sign of the cross) about my daughter having surgery in December to fix a perforated eardrum.  While the ENT doctor had said weeks ago everything was fine, we had a final appointment today.

And yes, everything is still fine. Actually, it's so fine that her eardrum is essentially normal.  no more ear plugs, no more cotton balls in the bathtube.  She's a normal kid (tm) in that regard.

To put this into perspective, My daughter is 7 now, she'd say 7 1/2.  She had her first ear surgery at 3 years old.  Since that time there have been tubes or unhealed holes in one or both ears.

Thank you to those who sent kind thoughts back in December when the wife and I needed it most.  A couple people know who they are and get special thanks.  The generosity and good will of people who are essentially strangers never ceases to amaze me and it's one of the reasons I'm proud to tell people "I am a biker."

Take care,
Andy
