After careful thought I am pretty sure the person who chose the colors for the car and wheels was high, blind or retarded when they made the final decision on the final details of this car. To have an awesome powerplant, seats, steering wheel, interior and to screw up the exterior like this deserves a beating.
This was at the Washington DC convention center in the Ford area.

I agree, everything but the stripes should be body-color (silver). :P
This guy might disagree:

I have a very fond spot for Boss 302s. In high school I helped a good friend build up a 1970 Boss 302 with all due respect to Bud Moore's TransAM driver George Follmer's car. This was in '71 and '72. It was the classic Ford school bus orange Boss built up to TransAm/street specs, not drag race standards. He was a road racer at heart and eventually won the 1990 LeMans race in a Tom Walkinshaw Silk Cut Jaguar as well as the World Porsche Cup 4 years in a row. Raced in IMSA GTP for years with Dyson Racing in Porsche 962s. That was one make the beast with two backsing hot Boss 302!!! Had many scary/wonderful rides in that car from the front passenger seat!! Price knew how to drive a car... still does. [thumbsup] Cool memories. [popcorn]
A buddy of mine owned a green '70 Boss 302 back in the very early 1990s. Memories abound...

I had an orange one in '70.
The car they show is probably 10 times the car, but it doesn't do the same thing for me. :-\
Bet he wished he still had it!!! Hell, hope he does still have it!! [thumbsup]
DP, then you had a copy of my buddy's Boss. Loved that color. Good times. My older brother had a 1969 Z/28 and to this day I don't know which I would get if I won the lottery. Oh hell, I'd get both!!! [laugh]
I like all of it except the wheels.

+1
Love the silver.
Darken up the red and reverse the colors
Color contrast blows.
Red roof & grille deserve someone to be stabbed in one eye only, so they can live with the shame and see it coming.
I'm an old Ford muscle-nut and to blatantly 'diss' the racing history by choosing colors like that?!? Unforgivable in my book. Disgusting..... I'm out.
The more I look at it... Looks like a paint scheme you'd see on a clapped-out 4 dr. Neon with all the "racing" parts on it you can buy at a Pep-Boys.
The car is fast & has pregnant dogin' stuff on it for sure.... Why put a paint job that makes it look like it has to prove it's fast?!? It doesn't have to prove anything! Ugh...
IMO, should be all silver, machined wheels (no paint), black stripes. [thumbsup]
I saw a brief clip online a few weeks back and the exhaust note is sublime.
they should have used the old orange and black color scheme, the "classic" boss colors.
I caught the last five minutes of some show on speed channel just last night about the new boss 302. Looks like they have a few retro color schemes.

I believe you can get that too. [thumbsup]

That's great...
Why'd they show the abomination? ???
The Laguna Seca versions are hideous. Colors are limited also - maybe just black or silver with the red accents? I don't recall the specifics....
But I know the "normal" version of the new Boss can be had in orange, yellow, and metallic blue for sure. The blue one makes me drool....

Ok, that black/orange one redeems (mostly) the atrocious silver/red one. I like!

dewd seriously
burnt orange redeems no man
they should have blocked out the rear windows with a body colored panel like the original "new" mustang concept car.

Much better without the red wheels.
Sorry guys but for me it has to be Blue with White accents... [thumbsup]
[coffee]
Me too. [thumbsup] I also like the opposite too, they should make a white one with blue stripes. [popcorn] Like the original Shelby GT350s.

Um.....google 2011 Shelby GT350. ;)
IMO, the new GT350 gets a little carried away in the badge and graphics department. I much prefer the much more subtle look of my '07 GT500 (no top stripes).

Now lose the rest of the red crap and change the stripes to black.
I'd rather google original Shelbys. They mean something to me. ;D
Me too, but I can't even afford a rusted out pile of an original. ;D
Back in the mid 80s I made a serious effort to locate and buy a GT350/Hertz car. Back when I had money to do it. Found a couple, made trips to check them out, researched them in my big Shelby registration/info book but never hashed out a deal. I regret to this day never making that happen. [bang] I loved those black and gold rent cars!! [clap] [bow_down] Oh well, my ex-wife probably would have ended up with it. :P
Back in about '89-'90 I had the opportunity to buy a rough (no rust, just abused) but complete '67 GT500 for $5000.
I was in college at the time and couldn't do it no matter what. I still wish I would have found a way.
I just watched a complete POS '67 GT350 go for $21K on eBay. Needed everything.
[bang]
You and I have been there. [bang]
