has anyone upgraded from a 620 monster to a higher cc engine monster ? ( s2r, s4r or even 800 or whatever I might be missing ? )
I am researching the possibility of upgrading the aging engine if I can find a cheap used/wreck bike engine in good condition.
But i do not know what size fits a 620 2004 monster.
Any info is greatly appreciated ? or if anyone has done it, info on their experience.

Ferracci has a 750 big bore (http://www.ferracci.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=749) kit designed specifically for the 620. They claim it outputs 72 rear wheel hp.
Not sure if it's what you want and it might be more cost effective to just sell your bike and buy another one. The beauty of the carb'ed bikes was that you could swap a 750 engine for a 900 and pretty much all you needed was to rejet your carbs to get everything running.
Fuel injection has advantages but it also makes things more complicated... :-\
There is a bit of work involved, but all the bolts line up between engines with matching frames (Trellis or whatever) (Similar years/ injection styles will usually fit) The problem comes in with the swingarms which are different from Monsters, to S*R's, to Sport Classics etc... which means the headers will have to be modified.
Fun times, get ready to get a new ecu to match the new engine tho. Annnndddd, some wire harness modifications will be required as well.
done the ferracci kit a couple of years ago on her. I can post up the dyno chart if you want to see but it did not even rich 60 if I remember.
I may just re-tune her and just keep on riding her from the looks of it if it too much work and cost.
What was lacking with the Ferracci kit? They're claiming +14 ft lbs of torque. Seems like you'd have noticed a good change there.
Did you tune the setup after install? New/reflashed ECU? Power Commander? What kind of air intake are you running?
she is in the shop now getting retuned. dyno shows she lost power. there is some issue going on and is trying to figure it out. she is in shop now for routine maintainance at 49k ( valve, belts etc)
Yes when I had the kit upgrade a few years ago, i had the dyno chart and can post up if want to check it out. the increase in hp was really not that much. negligable. frankly speaking it is not worth doing this upgrade. The upgrade i regret is the penske suspension. Not that it is not doing it's work, it just not worth it on this bike. I love the bike though and plan to keep on riding her as well as my S3 :)
got power commander installed then as well.
I've found (on other motors I've worked on) that proper fuel mapping makes a world of difference and isn't always easy to do. Maybe the map just wasn't that great. Also, I found that I had to re-map my (nicely dialed in) TL when they switched to ethonal fuel (had to add quite a bit of fuel) to make it run right again.
Was your FBF kit the 750cc big bore? If so, which compression ratio did you go with?
