Title: Picking Paint color....
Post by: ccm900 on February 01, 2011, 07:25:28 PM
I'm looking for some yellow for my 96 M900. I'm thinking of using colorrite.com and buying one of their aerosol cans to re-paint an early 900ss fender for my bike. They dont have my bike listed, infact, they dont start listing Ducati until 99. They do have a yellow for a 99 Ducati M900 here (http://www.colorrite.com/product/ducati-yellow-2091.cfm.). (sorry their specific pages dont link)
Did Ducati use the same yellow for the newer 99+ models? Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Theoretically it's the same color.

You'll probably see some difference if you put it right next to the tank, as variance is pretty standard for Ducati paint, but it should be close.

Don't use the S2R 'Acid Yellow". That is completely different.

Thanks! I just noticed your other thread, A lot of info there!

I'll look through there to see the best process to apply and finish. Then of course post pics of the finished product. (once supplies get here of course)

For best color match use a light undercoat...ie. white not dark gray.

And I was just about to offer up my S2R80 yellow that a shop custom blended for me...
