Here is the way I look at it: If the Monster is your primary bike (I only have one) then you don't want to be caught without them because you will take trips (or commutes) that require a bag to be mounted. If you are using the bike for show/track, you would take them off considering the aesthetic gains and weight reduction. As far as the bacon and bacon and boobies go... well... idle hands will find something to grab. I voted for keeping them on because that's how I plan to use my Monster.
