Title: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Travman on June 11, 2008, 06:47:54 PM I love to see modified Multistradas. I just wanted to share this one I came across.
(http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5329/02qt9.jpg) You've got to admire the work done to create this exhaust in Titanium. (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/126/328232913_79f15c185a.jpg?v=0) Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Ducatiloo on June 11, 2008, 06:54:40 PM Nice, that exhaust is sweet, wonder how it would look on a Monster. Any ideas what it is? I swear I've seen it at a hardware store.
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: aaronb on June 11, 2008, 06:56:22 PM that exhaust must have taken at least an hour to fab. maybe more!
seriously, that is nuts. i want to see the other side. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: NeufUnSix on June 11, 2008, 06:57:27 PM The exhaust is hideous (looks like some intestinal parasite), but a hell of a lot of work went into that.
Neat. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: aaronb on June 11, 2008, 06:57:54 PM Nice, that exhaust is sweet, wonder how it would look on a Monster. Any ideas what it is? I swear I've seen it at a hardware store. it is many many rings welded together to make the curves. crazy. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: spike spiegel on June 11, 2008, 07:07:44 PM BEAUTIFUL [thumbsup]
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: NAKID on June 11, 2008, 07:09:55 PM The exhaust is nicely done, but just looks like they did a lot of that for show. Not much purpose and it looks cluttered...
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: CairnsDuc on June 11, 2008, 07:10:28 PM Very Nice, Just can't stand that Blue paint
Love The exhaust Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: FortyTwo on June 11, 2008, 07:37:51 PM Way cool! I really dig the exhaust.
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: LYD on June 11, 2008, 07:43:24 PM I like it without the front fairing. Not crazy about the exhaust.
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: macker on June 11, 2008, 07:44:00 PM That bike is pretty nice, coolest multi i've ever seen
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: m1moto on June 11, 2008, 08:31:36 PM Nice, I like Multis, especially modded ones Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Dietrich on June 11, 2008, 08:36:53 PM I'm diggin' the side mount oil cooler! 8)
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: derby on June 11, 2008, 08:59:26 PM Nice, that exhaust is sweet, wonder how it would look on a Monster. Any ideas what it is? I swear I've seen it at a hardware store. it's a zard exhaust. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: 707soldier on June 11, 2008, 09:12:47 PM Looks Badass..
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Pancake81 on June 11, 2008, 09:25:33 PM Its a bit different, but I think I like it
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: 55Spy on June 12, 2008, 01:24:53 AM I like the bike, its swaying me towards a used MS...hmmmmm
a minimalist Strada..gotta work on that idea Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Big Troubled Bear on June 12, 2008, 01:30:16 AM It looks good, exhaust, stil thinking a bit agricultural
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: monsta on June 12, 2008, 04:06:46 AM looks good, except the exhaust. I think i like the exhaust under the seat like standard... I'd like to see the arse end to see what was done to fill the gap under the seat where the standard exhaust lived.
also, I dunno why the headers wern't just mostly bent, that would make the flow better wouldn't it... Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Travman on June 12, 2008, 04:13:49 AM I dunno why the headers wern't just mostly bent, that would make the flow better wouldn't it... That is a good question. Why are titanium exhausts welded together out of many pieces? Is titanium hard to bend? Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Smitch on June 12, 2008, 10:01:47 AM It is really cool, but the more I look at it...
It's now pretty much a Hypermotard! Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Dareduc on June 12, 2008, 10:06:50 AM that is beautiful!
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: TiAvenger on June 12, 2008, 10:11:29 AM That is a good question. Why are titanium exhausts welded together out of many pieces? Is titanium hard to bend? it flexes till its shatter point. Mandrel bending Ti is a almost impossible task, hence the exhaust being made of very small sections, to keep the inner diameter somewhat the same. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Scottish on June 12, 2008, 03:07:40 PM It would appear that the only good looking Multi is a modded Multi. I understand they are awesome to ride, but the stock fairing is still hideous imo. I find they look good when people get rid of them. Nakeds are best.
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: NAKID on June 12, 2008, 03:13:25 PM Here's the best looking Multi I've ever seen...

Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Monstro on June 12, 2008, 04:34:03 PM I love to see modified Multistradas. I just wanted to share this one I came across. (http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5329/02qt9.jpg) You've got to admire the work done to create this exhaust in Titanium. (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/126/328232913_79f15c185a.jpg?v=0) There is an article about this bike on a italian magazine called Mondo Ducati, from Marz 2008 (page 60). There are much more photos of different angles. If I had a scanner, I would post them. Not only the exhaus is amazing, but also the entire bike! [thumbsup] It does not look so tall as the Multistrada. Actualy it looks like a radical Monster. The suspention looks like it was totally chnged. And I would guess that this exhaust fit perfectly on a S2R! I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: NAKID on June 12, 2008, 05:03:37 PM That's the other one I was thinking of...... is it Nicks? Someone from the CDC crew is all I remember. (http://xs208.xs.to/xs208/06432/DSC01096.JPG) I remember when Nick first posted pics of that multi, that thing is bad-ass [evil] Does anyone know if he still has it? Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: ro-monster on June 12, 2008, 10:56:45 PM Ooo, the Multis look nice with no fairings!
But whose idea was that ghastly baby blue paint? Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: kenrok1 on June 17, 2008, 05:57:06 PM I think you can find the whole history Nick's build on TOB

I say was because he was rear ended at a Stop Light last month, not sure if he is going to rebuild it.

[thumbsup]
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: tallduc on June 17, 2008, 10:55:43 PM hmm, i wonder if it will fit a tall guy( 6'4") better? the dimensions on the ducati.com site seem the same as a monster except for a 2 inch higher seat but i already have my rear height maxed out.
Any monster owner tall guys tried the multi yet? Also i wonder if i could stick the monster tank on it? Actually what i really want is a s4rs sized in XXL ;D Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Ducatista on June 18, 2008, 06:55:38 AM My favorite modded Monstrada or Hyperstrada, whichever you prefer:
(http://bp3.blogger.com/_Sg9nYP7bv1I/Rl4qYEvP4jI/AAAAAAAAAhY/lHBkCXsYftE/s400/IMG_3082a.jpg) Unfortunately, Steve was recently rear ended by someone while stopped at a red light. This beautiful machine ended up entirely underneath the offending vehicle, minus the front end. Steve hopefully will be okay in the long run. He was decidedly very uncomfortable the last time I saw him. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: XTR on June 18, 2008, 07:35:47 AM About the only thing there that I like is the Zard (I put one on speedy) other than that yuck.

This beautiful machine ended up entirely underneath the offending vehicle, minus the front end. Steve hopefully will be okay in the long run. He was decidedly very uncomfortable the last time I saw him. That really sicks...hope he gets well soon! [thumbsup] I'm really close to doing something similar to my MTS. [thumbsup] Do you know what he did with the battery and fusebox? I think Nick put his in a custom mount where his airbox was, and replaced the airbox with pod filters. I'm not sure how good of an idea pod filters are for me, given how much rain riding I do in sunny Seattle. :P Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: johnster on June 18, 2008, 07:56:51 AM Are those front brake rotors carbon? They almost look like GP rotors, but it's hard to tell from the pic... ???
-Overall It's pretty damn cool though...I probably woulda made the exhaust black though personally.. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Statler on June 18, 2008, 08:03:35 AM People looking for Nick to talk to him about his bike can find him as motogpfan at coastalducaticlub.org
that's the forum he created. he's here too but is scarce at the moment. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: Xiphias on June 18, 2008, 05:28:20 PM Damn nice looking...thanks posting up the pics. Rob Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: herm on June 19, 2008, 07:33:35 AM wow.......i never suspected it was possible to make a MS look good.
i wonder how hard it would be to pick up a used one that needed a bunch of cosmetic fixin..........? Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: COWBOY on June 19, 2008, 08:25:04 AM Check this one out, was a beautiful mod, one of the best I have seen. My favorite of those shown by far. Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: clubhousemotorsports on June 19, 2008, 05:26:18 PM Sorry to hear about Steves luck, He just was fully recovered from breaking his back at the track a few years ago.
A friend of mine actually made the exhaust on Steves Multi, It looked good, Steve made it look Great. As he does with all of his bikes. You should see his work on Bevel motors. I dont even like the big Bevels but I love his work on them. Get well Steve! Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: sydmonster on June 20, 2008, 03:58:24 AM hmm... +1 on those multi's looking like bad-ass monsters. Cool! [thumbsup] - Chris
Title: Re: BadA$$ Modified Multistrada Post by: ducatiz on June 20, 2008, 09:25:18 AM The exhaust is nicely done, but just looks like they did a lot of that for show. Not much purpose and it looks cluttered... you cannot easily bend titanium, that's the purpose. also, doing this even with stainless means no kinking or buckling on the curves, which happens when you bend tubes. |
