Title: idling Post by: monstah on June 11, 2008, 07:04:38 PM I parked my bike near my office this morning.. Didn't park in my usual spot where they have installed new meters [bang] so I wasn't able to watch my bike.. Anyway long story short.. When I started my bike in the evening it was in high idling on neutral about 5000RPM and doesn't go down even on other gears ( had a tough time getting home)
Could this be because somebody tampered with my bike?? :-\ or is it something else that I should be worried about.. In anycase how do I fix it?? Thanks in advance Title: Re: idling Post by: Popeye the Sailor on June 11, 2008, 07:07:04 PM You'd have better luck in tech....
Stupid question-is your fast idle lever on? Maybe someone bumped it. Year and model would be helpful, too. Title: Re: idling Post by: CairnsDuc on June 11, 2008, 07:13:14 PM But would a fast Idle Lever get the revs that high?
Mine only gets to 3500 RPM Title: Re: idling Post by: NeufUnSix on June 11, 2008, 08:10:36 PM Sounds like a severe intake leak, that'll do it. One of my throttle bodies popped off the rubber venturi on my old SV and it did the same thing. Luckily I was two blocks from my house when it happened.

And yes, moving this to the tech section would be a good idea. |
