Title: Monster Handguards? Post by: Havik on February 06, 2011, 02:12:22 PM Hello All,
I recently required a 2007 Monster s2r 800. I very much like the look and functionality of hand guards. I am having trouble finding some and was wondering if any of you could help me out. I did a quick search and couldn't find a suggestion thread so I figured I would start one. Thanks everyone. Title: Re: Monster Handguards? These are what I had. Made by PowerMadd. I used the universal mounting kit. They did help some, but if your looking for a cure-all, you will need to start looking for heated wear. also avail with integrated signals, and look a little less dirtbike-like than some others Title: Re: Monster Handguards? Post by: Mojo S2R on February 07, 2011, 09:40:56 AM I think I a couple of people have used the HyperMotard handguards with integrated signals too.
I have a set of the original RPM Composites handguards. They now have three or four different styles. You can order them with their original universal brackets or without brackets and make or modify your own brackets to use theirs. Title: Re: Monster Handguards? Post by: pennyrobber on February 07, 2011, 10:52:26 AM I always admired this setup.

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5144/669/ (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5144/669/) I've already been one season with Poly Handle bar heaters ($40) - fantastic addition. Blocking the wind at the coldest ends of the season will really cut down on the pain factor, and I'll remove for the sexy summer season. Pain is 15F - 25F - could use help there. Summer gloves in the 30's? could deal with that. Gotta have the heaters, they are nice even on the 50F nite time rides (feel guilty but the hell with it). Title: Re: Monster Handguards? Post by: sbrguy on February 07, 2011, 08:01:43 PM if you goto a dealer and you get the past generation multistrada hand guards they bolt right up to the s2r800 coffin style cylinders without any modification at all. the only thing you will need is bar ends with a screw in them and they will bolt up perfectly without any mods or tools except for a wrench.
that catch is that the old multistrada handguards are a ducati part so you pay from a dealer close to 150$ new if you can find them. |
