Title: After market rotors
Post by: Link on February 09, 2011, 04:57:04 PM
Has any tried these out ? http://www.yanashiki.com/Yana_Shiki_Performance_Rotors_s/2994.htm (http://www.yanashiki.com/Yana_Shiki_Performance_Rotors_s/2994.htm)
I've used Galfers in the past and really liked them but you can get a pair of these on ebay for about 1/2 the costs.
 Thanks

Those look pretty sweet.

i think i've seen those on eBay - are they the made-in-china sets?

see if they have any kind of return policy / warranty for fitment etc.

For $480 total you can have yourself a set of Carrozzeria rotors (similar price ballpark) (link: http://www.forged-wheel.com/RotorsF.htm (http://www.forged-wheel.com/RotorsF.htm))

Yanashiki are sold by several US parts suppliers. I have no first hand knowledge, but when I was looking for the odd 6-bolt 15mm offset rotor, I was told I might be able to have them make them for me IIRC.

They also make rotors for another brand, but can't remember which, but it would be one you didn't suspect IIRC.

Mind you this is from phone calls about a year ago, so my memory isn't that.

if you do need special offset rotors, i know ISR will make 'em for you. (like if you need 6-bolt 15s, or 5-bolt 10s, etc)

I was looking at those too.  I haven't decided either way.  Here's more information on those and a few others: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=40948.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=40948.0)

I've got a good list of others to read up on. Here's the list I would choose from among for brake components (rotors, calipers, masters):

Discacciati
Brembo HP
ISR
PFM
PVM
BrakeTech
Sicom
Beringer
ALTH
AP Racing
Lyndall Racing Brakes
ABM
Performance Machine (PM)
Harrison - Mr Billet
EBC
Braking
Moto-Master
Swann
Galfer
Carrozzeria
Magura
Spiegler
Accossato

Some of these companies don't produce rotors, while others only produce rotors and pads. Some of the companies offer multiple rotor materials so there's stainless, iron, proprietary blends, and carbon.  As I see it, there's a few other 'options' to consider as well, including carrier material, floating/semi-floating, how it floats, wave / drilled / both / neither, and carrier/button colors.   Several of those options influence weight. There's also diameters (320 for most ducatis, but the latest sbks have 330's and you'd need to find a suitable alternative for those bikes with traction control buttons and whether the spacers need removed)

+1 on a cheap rotor find, at least for me.
