Looking for a Ducati Shop Manual for my 2004 Monster 800 i.e. and can't find it anywhere. Found one for the model year 2003. Would it be the same? Any ideas where I could find one for my bike and the Part #. Thanks
The 2003 manual should help you. I don't recall 03-04 changes to the engine or drivetrain. If you have the aluminum swingarm and the four pot brembo's up front, you should have the same bike as the 03. Speeddog should chime in soon.
Thanks! Speeddog hasn't chimed in yet.
I do have the aluminum swingarm and four pot Brimbo's up front. Any suggestions where on-line I maybe able to get the 2004 manual from? Or else I'll just buy the 2003. Thank again.
Mike
There was an '03 M800S, that, according to Ducati, came with an aluminum swinger.
The '04 M800 shows as a steel swinger.
Please check with a magnet just out of curiosity.
For all practical purposes, same bike other than that AFIAK.
Precisely. The '03 800 Dark had a steel swingarm. The 800 S' was aluminum.
visually identifying with the FI monsters, am i right in saying the steel swingarm looks like a one piece with a small horizontal weld near the pivot end, and the aluminum looks much like a three piece swingarm with the two legs joined by vertical welds to the pivot section?
aluminium swingarm (with extenders)
