Title: 07 S2R1000 w/ 400 miles... is valve check necessary?
Post by: gr1976 on February 10, 2011, 06:29:51 PM
I recently purchased this bike and am going to change the belts because of the age.

While I am at it, should I check the valves or is it a waste of time. Also, I'm assuming the clearances in the service manual are for a cold engine. Am I correct?

Thanks

I wouldn't bother checking the valves if it has only 400 miles.

I'm sure they are checked cold.

Cold...as in room temp cold. Not -20F barn cold.

Dont bother checking the valves. they will change when everything breaks in. Just do the belts and move on.
