Title: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: Monster Dave on February 11, 2011, 09:50:32 AM Hey everyone,
I have been tasked with the rather daunting assignment of assessing the current market/resale value of a 3 year old (nearly new) SonoSite Titan ultrasound machine that's been used only 1 time. I was wondering if anyone on the forum is familiar with a method of accomplishing this task short of using Google to see the price at which they are currently selling (which I've already done with little to no success). (http://www.umiultrasound.com/images/sonosite/systems/titan.jpg) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. MD. Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: DucVixenReturns on February 11, 2011, 10:32:16 AM I found between $7k for used and $16k for refurbished.

I know that my office paid upwards of 20k for it to start, but that it's depreciated some since then. Are there places that buy used medical equipment? Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: DucVixenReturns on February 11, 2011, 11:07:12 AM Yes, but ebay may be a better choice. I would set my reserve on that piece for $14k and see what happened. Doesn't sell? Try $10k.

Post by: Monster Dave on February 11, 2011, 11:30:23 AM I'm not sure that my office manager would go for using Ebay to sell it. But, the link above is exactly what we have. [thumbsup]
It looks like 10-12k is the most we could get for it. Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: lethe on February 11, 2011, 12:49:37 PM Can you donate it to be set on fire at the next DIMBY?

Fortunately such is not the case with this particular item - man would that have complicated things!! Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? I work for a major medical device manufacturer. I was actually going to tell you to check with the FDA before you sell it, but it looks like you have that under control. When I get back to work on mon I'll ask our resell group how they get their prices. Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? When I get back to work on mon I'll ask our resell group how they get their prices. Hey thanks. I appreciate that. I'm going to double check on the licensing issue today just to be extra sure. Fortunately, I'm not the one directly tasked to sell it - that responsibility will fall to my supervisor - however, it's my task to learn how much it's actually worth and how much we can reasonably expect to sell it for. Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: KnightofNi on February 22, 2011, 08:43:27 AM The lady who handles our resales finally sent me a list of brokers that we use. Send me an e-mail address and I'll fwd it to you.

Sorry, sometimes I just think like that. Title: Re: Medical Equipment Resale Value?? Post by: Monster Dave on February 28, 2011, 06:14:26 AM [cheeky]
