Title: How do i get rid of the MAINT on the display?

right now i have 73** miles .. the maint came out on 6000.
is there a way to get rid of it?

There are 2 buttons on the instruments on the previous generation monsters, one on the right and one on the left, they are normally used to switch between the temp/time and the odo/trip on the 2 lcd windows.

All you do is hold the left hand button on the dash down and then turn on the key. Wait about 15 seconds sand the light clears.
Of course for testing purposes only  ;)

Err....what about 2009 M696??? I really don't want to pay the dealer just to turn that thing off. Thanks. [moto]

AFAIK, no one has discovered a way to turn off the light without a scan tool on your bike yet.

This should work for your bike too.
