Title: Pre-2000 Stock clutch slave bore

what's the bore on a stock 95 m900 clutch slave. mines beginning to weep.

Not sure of the actual number, but Ducati sells a seal for short money. It's not a standard o-ring.

You can hone the body with a 3 stone brake hone and rebuild them easily.

Evoluzione makes a replacement piston with a double o-ring seal that should last longer.

thanks nate. i thought about doing the rebuild, but i think i want something a little easier to pull. D*MN THESE GIRLY HANDS. the 4 spring trick is okay, but you loose quickness of clutch.

i pulled the piston cause i wanted to know what the stock diameter was before picking an aftermarket unit.

25.930mm piston diameter so basically a 26mm piston.

Oberon 29mm, PSR 29mm, STM 30mm, NCR 32mm. I did a thread search. :)

Bigger piston ain't necessarily better is it? Short travel Vs ease of use. Who makes a slave that has easy pull but good travel/disengagement of the plates?

I guess that Yoyodine is a good brand. Any 28 mm types?

I like my stocker and service it regularly, but it's a matter of time isn't it?

I suppose you could also upgrade the master with a larger bore to regain the travel lost by a larger slave.

the yoyodynes work, period.

I have had a finicky evoluzione, and a well performing DP. The DP's, however, are hit and miss - if they are going to leak, its a manufacturing defect, and you'll know within the first month. Great part about buying Ducati parts is they warranty it without batting an eye (so long as you pick a good dealer, i suppose - AMS did it without hesitation which I always thought was cool).


You need to do one of two things: Get a kit with the 'spacer', or purchase a longer pushrod. Slaves that don't have the 'spacer' and your OEM equipped shorter rod will leave you without a functioning clutch after a few pulls!

that's a good point on the clutch rod. i think YOYO currently only sells a slave for the longer clutch pushrod. i'm probably wrong though. i do know it has a LIFETIME WARRANTY(only against failure not clutch bearing failure)

are there only 2 length clutch pushrods? kinda hazy area for me. were all bike before 2000 short and everything after it the longer?

Yes. its about a 10mm difference.  I put the longer one in my 1999 and called it a day.

Yoyodyne will give you the pill if you have the short pull rod. Nice thing about having the pill is that if your push rod happens to drill for any reason, it'll drill the pill first and save replacement costs.

if you lose the pill if your slave is off for some reason though, you be out of luck.

It's a give-and-take.

As the piston gets bigger, the pull gets easier, but you get less travel at the slave...the master only pushes a fixed volume of fluid.

Usually where folks run into problems is running a large piston slave with adjustable levers set close to the bar.
They just don't push enough fluid to disengage the clutch before the lever hits the bar.

I've got 40k miles and 7+ years on my Yoyodyne, no issues at all.

Thanks a m, just curious, I'll get back to the States one day and buy you a beer.

You guys say the Yoyo's work well and Chris sells good stuff, so that's my decision made.
I note that the 'pill' now comes standard in the kit to cover all models if you need it.

Mine is working great at present, but most bikes the same age have either a late model stocker or aftermarket slave on 'em by now. For example, my former SL900 had a post 2000 type, my other mate's M900S has a Vee Two. Dunno why mine has lasted so long.
