Video of a solo climber FREE CLIMBING the North Face of Eiger at ridiculous speeds. [clap]
Warning: this is freaking terrifying.

Until I repositioned the window, it was creepy and bloody and scary,
thanks to your McDonalds clown. ???
But once I moved it and only saw the Eiger climber:
amazing, peaceful, breathtaking, insanely crazy....
[thumbsup] Thanks for sharing!
Wow. I thought I was as freaked out as I was going to get, then he starts running along the summit ridge...

you grab something lose and it might fall on your head. even a small but sharp pebble could hurt you.
There's "crazy."
And then there's "somewhat connected to reality, but so far beyond what anyone else is capable of that medication won't change a goddamn thing."

there must be on hell of a f'ed up wife at home that would make a man want to run away up a hill like that
That was totally cool!! But now what?? How the frick does he get down?
Crazy!! [bow_down]
We saw freeclimbers during our gondal ride to the top of The Dolomites (Pordoi Pass) in '04. Still gives me butterflies thinking about 'em.
honestly not sure which video scared me more...
people are make the beast with two backsin nuts!
You know, I'd love to be all "yeah, I'd do that in a make the beast with two backsing heartbeat if I had the chance". But, ummm, no. Not gonna happen. No make the beast with two backsing way. Not too proud to say that I'm a total chickenshit. I think that if I was in great shape, I could make that climb (not at those speeds, tho). But I couldn't get back down. Hell, I have a very hard time standing on the top of a 6-ft stepladder.
oh come on it can't be that hard its even over 15k ft the summit, sheesh that is childs play. [laugh]
it is amazing how fast that guy was movig and you see if you screw up you fall a long way.
maybe.....if i had the skills.
and a base jumping chute...
nah, who am i kidding. :o

Dunno.
Feet on the ground at ridiculous altitudes does not feel nearly the same as turbulence at "reasonable" heights.
just in case the above was not crazy enough...
