can you locals keep your eyes peeled for a 748? my track bike project fell through. almost better if not streetable (cost).
WTF happened with the one from Mike through Cyclemax ( even though I understand 3rd hand he isn't working there anymore and is now a service manager for a muffler shop or something)...
I'll keep em peeld for sure!
long story. I never took posession. Mike is still tops in my book. There were...er...problems with the bike's paperwork that he got from the guy who sold it to him.

If you can swing the extra $ the 749 is far superior. Way better engine.

Chris has the money Rick. In fact, he could probably afford your tricked out 848 as well. [evil]

BUT, he has a method to his madness!! [thumbsup] ;)
Heh, paperwork's a pregnant dog!
Got a car over two weeks ago, my bank had to send a check to the PO's bank who has to notify VA MVA to send them the title so they can make a copy and then give me the title. Still waiting....
The wrecked 748 in Annapolis could be a good deal, main thing to watch out for with the 748 is the flaking rocker arms. I think the best solution is to have them resurfaced, but at $50 each it can get silly expensive quick.

HAH! Anytime you mention Ducati and racing in the same breath that is madness. Method or not. ;D
Chris, just posted up links to an interesting 749 and a 675SE in the craigslist thread.
tempting but a little too pretty... ;)

Not after you throw it down the track a few times. [evil]
that's kind of the point. I'm STILL picking gravel out of the RS. ;D
this one's going to be rattle can, lean it up against the fence.
Haven't heard back from wrecked 748 guy. Mike was going to check it out for me.
you could always buy some cheap fairings off fleabay for the 749 and either keep the good ones or sell them.
on the other side, it's hard to beat pre-crashed ;D

The bike has SLIGHT damage on left side fairing
Asking $5000 OBO, do not lowball me, im in no hurry to sell it, i can hang on to it and sell it for the asking price next season....
OKAY...so he has a decent machine that has been dropped and maybe marginally maintained and yet he wants retail pricing for a machine that he doesn't use the potential of because it doesn't top out as high as he wants while his boyz or pullin on him on their Gixxers....riiiiiiiiiiiiiight....I wouldn't offer him a dime above $3800, to which he probably wouldn't accept , regardless of the fact that this isn't exactly the kind of find that Chris is looking for in the 1st place....
"THIS" on the other hand has potential....

Mike is checking out a 800ss for sale that he built for a guy a few years ago. If that's not perfect I'm going to pull the trigger and give Kevin (monsterlovers) orange SS Frankenstein a home.

THAT bike is all kinds of want in my book...give her the love she deserves if you end up riding high on that ride...

I'll still be slower than Dolph. :'(
better looking also!
:-*
when I get the sleeve of my leathers fixed from the racetrack oops, I'm going to have lettering put on the back.
"complete poser, please pass with care"
then it's of to B group for me. ;D
I vote for just getting a "slow moving vehicle" in hi-viz and reflective ScotchLite stitched onto the back.
You know, like a functional tramp stamp.
are there non-functional tramp stamps? really?
how about "slow moving chicane"
Any word on the 800, or does it look like Kev's KTM colored SS will be it?
here's something worthy of consideration that popped up on the radar...

One trip to Frosty's can fix that. [thumbsup]

If that's going to be Gs ride you're going to need some new springs. She'd get beaten to bits on a bike spring for a 190 pounder.
And I hope you adjust that chain... it's got a vicious case of the dangles ;)

The rear ride height on that bike has been raised considerably.
The chain isn't actually very loose. ;)
