Title: Ohlins "Lite" Post by: pcv57 on February 22, 2011, 06:21:49 PM I've seen the new Ohlins lite shock advertised and is only supposed to be around $600 or so. Has anyone tried it or know much about it? I have a stock Sachs unit with an upgraded Ohlins spring. I'm wondering if it would be worth the money. Also, where do you buy it? I can't find a dealer that has one.

It's probably a lot better than the stock Suchs, but for a couple hundred more one can get a Penske double-clicker fully adjustable with a Torrington bearing spring adjustment collar(no more busted knuckles). (The fixxer upper M900 just got an Ohlins rear shock - so I'll have a bike with each) (somebody loan me $400...they'd both be improved with a Ti-spring to reduce weight, and reduce the uncontrolled intertial forces in rebound characteristics: http://www.rentoncoilspring.com/performance/why_titanium/ (http://www.rentoncoilspring.com/performance/why_titanium/)) Title: Re: Ohlins "Lite" Post by: atomic410 on February 23, 2011, 01:19:36 PM I had a penskie on my R6 racebike and it was magic and more adjustable than my ohlins due to the placement of the hose on the remote res. with an ohlins you need a tech to set it up because sometimes that hose needs to come off to adjust the preload if its not within spec out of the box or by changing springs. the penskie was more user friendly for this reason imo. however i think they both are great shocks. ohlins is going to traxxion dynamics as soon as it can to get a rebuild [bacon]
