Flying into Raleigh and stopping in Greensburo, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Ashville and back.
Any suggestions on things to do/must sees?
Visit with the_Journeyman while in the Ashville area. [thumbsup]
Also if you're into architecture, you can't miss the Biltmore Estate.
Do a behind the scene tour, it's worth it.

Thanks..Biltmore is already on the list. Staying there a night. The reason we're going to Asheville. [thumbsup]
Asheville is a neat city. Lots of small micro brews in the downtown area, neat shops, artist co-op etc. It is the current "Beer City USA" title holder. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs right through Asheville to, so if you feel the need to drive on it for a mile or two (there's actually a section called the "commuter section" it can be done.
Like DD said, the Biltmore Estate is very nice, I've been a couple times and enjoy it every time. I do enjoy some architecture. The winery is nice to visit if you want to sample some locally grown and made wine.
When are you going to be in the mentioned places and what kinds of activities do you enjoy?
I'm 35 minutes away from Asheville, so if you've got time for a beer, we'll make it happen ~

Doh....
How did I forget the [wine]..... [bang]
Wine is good!
Biltmore's Cardinals Crest is my favorite, but it's their most expensive regular run. If it's available for sampling at the winery I recommend it. Provide of course you like bold reds.

I'll let you know specifics JM.
The parkway sounds cool..but..traveling with pregnant wife. So, the breweries are pretty much out too. [thumbsdown]
Just keep me updated [thumbsup]

I'm a fan of ED Bourdreauxs BBQ in downtown Asheville myself. There are some very good microbrews there as well
Another Caribbean place is Salsas on Patton. Tiny place, but awesome food! If you like Sushi, Kobu is just around the corner from Salsas and is awesome too ~

Someone touched on it earlier but 12 Bones bbq in Ashville deserves another nod. Some of the bbq I have ever had! Lots of cafes and music downtown.
Obama ate at 12 Bones when he visited Asheville. It's Commander in Chief worthy!

In Raleigh right now. cool downtown area. Reminds me of the PDX. Be around here until Monday morning if anyone is up to meet for drink eating at Mo Joes right now. White 748 right here
In Charlotte. Drove downtown and ended up in a not~so~nice area on the way back to Mathews. I guess that's where we're staying.
If you're in Charlotte Friday and are into NCAABB, there are tournament games.
<Edit> If you're headed to Asheville from Charlotte the Whitewater Center is just off 85 south on your way to 321. Cool to check out- food isn't bad, $5 parking is a rip off...probably still worth it.
Highland Gaelic is awesome- brewery is in Asheville. http://www.highlandbrewing.com/contact.htm (http://www.highlandbrewing.com/contact.htm)
Biltmore House is cool...personally, I think the wine is not very good.
Biltmore wine is ok, but the Sangiovese (sp?) is really nice IMO, better than the rest. Carries a higher price too.

If I drank it after I had their Syrah, I wouldn't know. I tasted pepper for two days. Still makes me cringe.
Not a BB fan anymore. Probably just hit the road before it gets busy here. Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure what the plans are yet. We had a list but now not so sure.
