Title: CRG bar end mirrors
Post by: dan miller on February 27, 2011, 03:26:09 PM
Just returned from my first ride with CRG bar end mirrors.  I LIKE 'EM!!!!!!!!!!

It's really nice to be able to see what's going on behind without going through contortions on the bike seat.

Danny

I'm starting to get comfortable on the bike (about 600 miles), and am now able to smoothly stop EXACTLY where I want.  I had been having trouble, either stopping short or having to add a bunch of brake at the end.

What a delightful bike!  I can't believe that I hadn't looked at them prior to getting mine (M900ie).  I thought that they were uncomfortable "crotch rockets" for youngsters (anybody under 50, lol).

Do you have the rounds, or the new arrows? Pics are always nice.

Just the plain old  3" round lane splitters.

Stock bike with mirrors.  Not worth the bandwidth for a pix.  Of course, I don't know how to do a pix, so the point is academic.  lol

Thanks, Danny

Also, in deference to 10 year old belts and tires, I had been holding the revs down to around 6,000.  Today (new belts and tires) I wound it up several times to 8600 through the gears.  Won't pull to 8600 in sixth, but has a nice, smooth power band.

Funny thing (maybe I'm getting senile), but I think I like that it only has 80 (or whatever) horsepower.  I'm liking the balance (weight, suspension, gear spread, brakes, etc.).

Delightful motorcycle.  I'm really anxious to find a school and get some track time/instruction.

Danny

The HP thing is really (for the most part) over rated. My S2R has about 80hp and I most likely will never get to use it. However, I am an American and will always want more. If you have put the "kid" in you to sleep, then the lower HP bikes really have something to offer.
