This is essentially the radiator described by Simon here: http://www.simonvicki.co.uk/wheels_pages/_s4r_pages/S4r_stage_8.html (http://www.simonvicki.co.uk/wheels_pages/_s4r_pages/S4r_stage_8.html)
Its 100 mm narrower, 5mm thicker and the same height. Nominal decrease in volume by 5%, only room for one fan (which I'm running anyway). I'll bolt it up tonight after work and post more pics then.
Pace can make more, so PM me if you're interested.
Very cool. Do you think it will bolt up on an S2R? ;D
This was always one of my issues with the S4R. The radiator was so wide. Maybe it's time to start the hunt for a nice used 4 valver.
Very tasty. [beer]
I've seen photos of it mounted on an S4R and it's almost invisible (compared).
[thumbsup]
Well, I won't finish tonight. I need coolant and hose clamps. Plus, I have to figure out how/if I can still use the covers. I really like the covers, particularly after I fit an aftermarket overflow reservoir.

that is make the beast with two backsin' awesome. i really dig it man
re: only 1 fan - did you choose a larger single fan? have you put the fan on a temp or manual switch? (i know some trackguys who ditched 'em completely.)
INTERESTED INTERESTED INTERESTED INTERESTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [drool]
+1 what would the cost be? def interested.
Wow. If this had been available back in '02, I'd be riding a liquid-cooled monster now ;D
I'd be down it the rad covers fit ok.
Can you PM me the cost.
Which rad covers? The cf ones that extend to the frame to cover the fans, or the small ones that fit on the sides? (Just curious in mods, I still am water-cooled-bike-less)

It's never too late to do the right thing. ;D
Well, since my S4Rs radiator has sprung a leak (all by itself, no stone damage) at 34,000km, I'm very interested too.
Wonder what the quality will be like compared with the stock rad? Better, I'm hoping. [roll]

Given how much I've put into my current monster, I'd say that ship has sailed.
And my next bike... will be a Streetfighter (just as soon as they start to show up used :'( )

The ones that go from the frame to the rad.
You can see them sitting on DucHead's lift in the last pic.

Yup. I guess that'll be this summer's project. Perhaps trim the front of existing covers, add material (modeling clay?) to the rear, make a mold (latex?) and make new covers from fiberglass.
word
Note: The S4RS radiator is even wider than the desmoquattro S4R, so I'm not sure the Pace unit will fit the S4RS.
Anyone with an S4RS who's interested, please send me pics of the mount point of the radiator to the horizontal head.
Also, the S4RS fans are deeper and may not fit. The desmoquattro fans fit fine.
Dave
I'm gonna send a spare rad to fluidyne and or/ron davis. The pricing is good without the $200 bill for shipping from the UK.
Comparison photos are needed...before:

not if you come to a stop regularly (such as traffic)

As it turns out, I have an electrical (ECU?) problem and have not been running fans for >1yr (ca. 9000 miles). I commute on my bike and have not had any problems over heating (well, once last summer stuck in traffic in downtown Pittsburgh).

What is that sticker on the fender?
It looks like an eagle or a bird of some kind.....

looks a little like Pegasus to me
Its the Deal's Gap sticker - the Tail of the Dragon, as the road is frequently called. US 129 is a very biker-friendly road with lots of tourism appeal, travelling between Tennessee and North Carolina with 318 turns in 11 miles, steep drop-offs on one side, big elevation on the other, mostly switch backs, only two lanes, and has a restaurant at one end... with a tree of shame. (for all the parts people leave behind when they go 'yard-sale' off the road and into a ravine)
crate up that moto, and ship it from norway to the US and we can make it a group trip to the Gap!
but if i was going to tease our dearest DucHead, I would also "see" a pegasus.

If it faces to the right, it's a dragon. If it faces to the left, it's a wizard.

^ what he said.
It can be a bird if you stand facing the rear of the bike. Unless the sticker is on your left, then it's an eagle.
Wow. Im in on this. perfect!
So what's the estimated price?
I likey. ;D
