Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: mitt on March 03, 2011, 09:57:07 AM I like them [thumbsup]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Fergus on March 03, 2011, 09:57:25 AM Captain America needs some blue...
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: thought on March 03, 2011, 10:46:20 AM a bit meh for me... i know the yellow is rossi's fave color, but i never found it to match that well with red.
my fave skin is still the ducati corse logomania... the only one i'm tempted to get. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Rufus120 on March 03, 2011, 11:33:56 AM [thumbsdown] Maybe in black and yellow
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: orangelion03 on March 03, 2011, 11:40:55 AM I'm not a fan of schemes with race numbers on them. Be it MotoGP or NASCAR.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Stinky Wizzleteats on March 03, 2011, 12:26:51 PM I'm not a fan of schemes with race numbers on them. Be it MotoGP or NASCAR. +1 Maybe the number would have looked better on the seat cowling. Wonder how many 69er's they will sell? :D Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: BoDiddley on March 03, 2011, 02:25:35 PM I like Hayden's more than Rossi's. Now if he could just beat him a couple times........... [bang]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: fastwin on March 03, 2011, 02:41:47 PM I've got a Hayden Replica RC51 and thankfully it wasn't covered in 69 stickers! In fact it's the best looking year of RC51s due to the aluminum frame and swingarm not being black anodized. Looks 100% better in standard aluminum fare. It has white # plate stickers whereas non-Nicky RCs have black ones. Only has one little Nicky signature sticker on top of the tank at the front.
I kinda like the two versions in the story pics. But I too am not a huge fan of giant numbers on the tank. I'm liking the suggested idea of having one on the back seat cowl. [thumbsup] Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: duccarlos on March 03, 2011, 02:43:51 PM I like Nicky's more than Val's but I would buy neither.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: RVA Duc on March 03, 2011, 05:01:18 PM Not a fan, I agree yellow doesn't mix [thumbsdown]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Dr. D on March 03, 2011, 06:27:00 PM I am a fan! (Me on the left.)
(http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n302/peter_anon/4cee4abc.jpg) But I wouldn't buy one of those. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: zarn02 on March 03, 2011, 06:54:07 PM Eh...
Meh. I'd pass on both of those, were I in the market for a new monster. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: muskrat on March 03, 2011, 07:02:43 PM [puke]
This is the marketing departments idea of a Rossi themed bike? They get paid to slap a sticker without a design clue. Looks terrible IMO Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: DoubleEagle on March 03, 2011, 08:11:48 PM My opinion of bikes on the street w, numbers on them (http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn198/DoubleEagle_photo/puke.gif)

Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: rideserotta on March 04, 2011, 05:48:15 AM I would NEVER ride a bike like that... makes you look like a poser. [thumbsdown]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: mitt on March 04, 2011, 06:10:44 AM Wow, usually I am the critic, but so far I think I have the only ;D vote to date.
mitt Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Outlaw1100 on March 04, 2011, 06:26:32 AM In the twisties, I like passing riders who have numbers on their bikes... ;D
Mike Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Bishamon on March 04, 2011, 06:30:20 AM You know, the Rossi scheme doesn't look too bad. The fluorescent yellow certainly looks better with the standard red than it does with the fluorescent red they used on the MotoGP bike.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Latinbalar on March 04, 2011, 07:12:05 AM That would be awesome just imagine riding down the road in full leathers (with sponsor logos plastered all over it) on this.
(http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/277172/images/rossi-monster-2.jpg) You would win the D-bag award for sure! Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Monster Dave on March 04, 2011, 07:16:39 AM (http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/277172/images/rossi-monster-2.jpg) I like the accents around the seat cowl and where the seat meets the fuel tank. It's different - good or bad, I haven't decided - but I'm strangely perplexed by it.... What's with the 12in red strip on the rims? Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: datdude on March 04, 2011, 07:22:02 AM [puke] This is the marketing departments idea of a Rossi themed bike? Looks terrible IMO +1 Save yourself $780, buy one of these and slap it on your ride [thumbsdown] (http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae71/datdudeHX/Blogs/RossiStickers.jpg) Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: DucMouse the Mighty on March 04, 2011, 07:40:52 AM i think they look awesome and i would totally rock that down the street [moto]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: duccarlos on March 04, 2011, 07:43:07 AM I see many of these being sold in South Florida.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: thought on March 04, 2011, 07:46:15 AM What's with the 12in red strip on the rims? 796's dont have full rim accents, only that strip... makes it look red in motion, but kinda meh standing. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Monster Dave on March 04, 2011, 07:50:05 AM 796's dont have full rim accents, only that strip... makes it look red in motion, but kinda meh standing. Oh and they could at least have a GP style exhaust if it's commemorative Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: SOLOMONster on March 04, 2011, 09:21:49 AM Quote Maybe in black and yellow +1 The neon yellow and red look like crap. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: junior varsity on March 04, 2011, 10:20:27 AM make the beast with two backs you pregnant doges. i don't even own a newfangled monster and i ordered the rossi bodykit.
i'm just going to tape and bungee cord it over my 900's steel tank. haters gotta hate. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Monster Dave on March 04, 2011, 10:34:23 AM Oh snap!! [laugh]
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Latinbalar on March 04, 2011, 12:05:01 PM We just got served!
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Drunken Monkey on March 04, 2011, 12:36:19 PM I think the bike looks nice.
But it's definitely not my thing to ride "someone else's" bike. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: jsd2 on March 04, 2011, 12:55:12 PM To each their own. Definitely not something I would want to own. I am more for the slightly under-stated look and I agree I don't like numbers on things that are ridden on the road. The exception might be the Bayless 1098 from a few years ago.

Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Betty on March 04, 2011, 07:32:30 PM Faster too I'd reckon.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: duc996 on March 04, 2011, 09:03:44 PM I like it.
Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: IZ on March 04, 2011, 09:26:40 PM Not a fan. [thumbsdown]
I would like to see an 848 EVO in flat black with The Doctor's number and logo though! Something similar to the first Desmo ride in Valencia [drool] [drool] [drool] [drool] Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Stinky Wizzleteats on March 06, 2011, 12:31:11 PM (http://www.blm.at/ducati/news/images/ducati_monster_capirex1.jpg) ^ better Oooh, that looks fast! I reckon you'd get to 140mph on that! [thumbsup] Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: swampduc on March 06, 2011, 05:16:27 PM Not a fan. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Raux on March 06, 2011, 09:54:34 PM I just don't understand why they make a motogp commemorative bike out of the weakest bike in the lineup... because not everyone that is a GP fan can afford a $20k bike. They will come out with the Rossi DS eventually. Title: Re: rossi themed monster Post by: Bishamon on March 08, 2011, 06:49:28 AM because not everyone that is a GP fan can afford a $20k bike. Not to mention some people prefer the simplicity of an air-cooled engine. The real reason, I'm sure, is that since the current-gen Monsters already have panels designed to be swapped, it made sense to make a set of MotoGP-themed replacements. |
