That's what I'm gonna start calling it now. [thumbsdown] Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: Oldfisti on March 04, 2011, 08:48:52 AM Want more excitement and unpredictability?
Maybe we could bring back manual shifting... NAH that's just what they'll be expecting. Not nearly gimmicky enough. [roll] P.S. I hate all the new Tilke tracks. He talks of other ideas to incorporate overtaking and point system. Isn't funny that the guy that got caught with the 5 nazi prostitutes in the concentration camp themed sex party was the "normal one" of the two? Seriously, it's time for Bernie to stop ruining F1. Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: ducatiz on March 04, 2011, 11:28:44 AM Why not? Hell, make it a crash-up derby and require all the drivers to have at least a D-cup sized breast implants. I'd watch.
[bang] [bang] Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: zooom on March 04, 2011, 12:42:43 PM after every 5th lap, they have to stop and get out of the car and do 2 laps around the car and jump back in and go again....how bout that idear?

would reduce costs, since they'd last all race. would also require skill in the cockpit. that's a win/win in my book. ;D Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: Speeddog on March 04, 2011, 10:57:16 PM He's just a troll, saying crazy stupid shit just to get folks wound up. That's only 1500ccs. It was a 4 cylinder I believe. Put that in a bike . (http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn198/DoubleEagle_photo/devil.gif) I'd ride it ! Dolph :) Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: lethe on March 05, 2011, 03:36:16 AM Can you believe back in the '80s a BMW F1 1.5 liter turbo charged engine produced 1300 hp ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M12 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M12)That's only 1500ccs. Be nice to see some more new technology develop and trickle down to the rest of us. [thumbsup] Assuming Bernie stops focusing on the clown factor. Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: lethe on March 05, 2011, 11:09:12 AM Audi running the TDI engines? That would be very cool. be very interesting if it were possible to make something in that displacement actually be competitive.Kinda doubt it as the gas engines are probably going to rev to the moon and make tons of power making it so a diesel couldn't compete unless they could work in a displacement break for them to make up some ground. Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: lethe on March 05, 2011, 11:42:06 AM Here's that BMW 4cyl from '86, 79psi :o

Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: lethe on March 06, 2011, 07:43:58 AM you'd be surprised what a multi-turbo tdi will do.. I'd love to see someone make it happen as that's one of the main things I love about good racing and why I dislike Nascar, trickle down of technology that the rest of us can use. The new four cylinders won't sound as good I'm sure but hopefully some advancements will make it into the things us common folk drive in the years to come like they have already. I've never been anti little engine, just anti boring little engine. [thumbsup]but you're right for the most part, they would have to make a new allowance for a diesel to compete. Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: Le Pirate on March 08, 2011, 09:41:26 AM I just love the fact that the BMW engine says MEGATRON on top ;D
oh...and Bernie is nutso. If he wanted more excitment, why are there so many limitations on the cars :P Title: Re: Proposed F1 Changes (or Bernie's lost his mind) Post by: superjohn on March 10, 2011, 04:59:54 AM Like him or not, Bernie is a brilliant businessman. I don't think he actually wants any of these ideas to come to fruition, but since the real issues with F1 are beyond his control, he's spouting out some wildly insane concepts so the Ferrari's and McLarens who are determined to outspend any competitor, and the rules committees forming the technical regulations think twice about the status quo. I can imagine them thinking to themselves, "how are we going to introduce more parity the right way so this nutter doesn't start turning on the sprinklers?"
