Title: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: Smitch on March 04, 2011, 03:21:11 PM Just to keep everyone informed, Kevin Marshall, the only remaining Ducati Tech at PPHD, has taken a job at a Knoxville, TN dealer.
So, there is nowhere "official" to go in Colorado Springs for service. Owning a Ducati in C/S just got a little more exotic. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: lytehouse on March 04, 2011, 03:41:47 PM John & I stopped by there and missed saying "goodbye" to him by no more than 2 mins!
We wish him the best and it sounds like he'll have a good job in Tennessee. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: KRJ on March 06, 2011, 08:35:24 PM He will be better deserved at any other shop than there, God bless and good travels Kevin, hope it works out well.. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: aerofaze on March 07, 2011, 09:40:18 AM He'll be better off where they'll appreciate his talent... good luck, Kevin, thanks for serving my bike!
As for me, Brian at Boulder Motorsports, here I come. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: Lieutenant Dan on March 15, 2011, 08:22:19 PM Was this the only local Ducati mechanic? I'm thinking of getting a Monster soon. Very new to this... And is Boulder the closest place now?
Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: aerofaze on March 16, 2011, 08:49:50 AM No, Boulder is not the closest, but I was very impressed with BMS's service facility and reputation. [thumbsup] Brian's shop is purely Ducati service, so that's why I'll be headed up that way this month.
Fay Myers in Southern Denver and Erico Motorsports downtown Denver will do Duc maintenance. You might also want to call to see if TFOG, 303 Cycle, or Performance Cycle (all in Denver) can do certain services. I'm guessing they're more limited. In Colorado Springs, Apex won't touch any brand they don't sell, and I don't trust Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: Lieutenant Dan on March 16, 2011, 09:26:54 PM Great, thanks! Yeah that Pikes Peak place seemed shady to me, too when I stepped in there. Not a pleasant experience.
Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: KRJ on March 16, 2011, 10:05:26 PM Make a point to contact the Folks on the MHM club board, thats the Denver crowd, Great bunch of People there that can help on most every Duc related issue, a wealth of info on any shop in Colo..... Damn good place to start. And bye the way, Welcome to The SoCoDog Family, or the Ducati Family in General.. We may be a little disfunctual at times but, Oh Well...Hope to ride with You all soon.. cheers, KRJ Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: aerofaze on March 17, 2011, 01:35:56 PM ... They used to do all my work when the bike was still under warranty. My son does the work now and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.
Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: KRJ on March 21, 2011, 09:19:10 PM Thats right, and there are a lot of Folks around here to help. Hollar if You need a hand with something.... [thumbsup] Hey KRJ, would you be able to help "re-spring" my rear shock on my 696? i am looking for a stiffer spring. I heard it takes a revalving. I also am interested in powdercoating my triples to match black, but dont have space or more importantly a front stand thanks man Jim Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: bonfy on April 10, 2011, 06:59:00 PM Sounds like a shop day is on order. Tell Shannon to get the carmel brownies in the pan. We'll pick up some beer on the way down. [cheeky]

This is David previously at PPM, and now I'm back...a year and a half later and happy to be back. Which means that you do have somewhere to bring your Ducati. Hope to see you guys soon. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: DucatiTorrey on April 18, 2011, 02:21:44 PM I am at PPM as of a week ago, give me/us a call if you need anything. I am there Tues - sat do they have reasonable rates to mount new tires? i can get free shipping off a website for tires, maybe ship to your shop? Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: DucatiDaveSoCo on April 23, 2011, 03:38:17 PM Hey Guys, I'm looking into getting something going for Ducati riders, not sure what it might be just yet.
Thinking about maybe a special on mounting tires for a flat rate, but dont know just yet. Any ideas....? What does everyone need? Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: flynbulldog on April 23, 2011, 04:12:39 PM We need a reasonable flat-rate on belt replacement and valve adjustment. [beer]
We can get good belts for a realistic price from these guys: http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/ (http://www.ca-cycleworks.com/) [thumbsup] Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: DucatiTorrey on April 23, 2011, 04:35:36 PM i am needing new tires big time this summer. I can have them shipped from a store online for free right to you guys. Also, valve adjustments are a big deal for ducs that could be good. I am also looking into a stiffer rear spring for my 696
are you guys doing this to stay competitive for ducs? sounds good to me... [beer] Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: DucatiDaveSoCo on April 24, 2011, 07:23:47 PM Hey Guys,
This whole idea is something I'm going to bring up to the Service Manager, and then he'll have to get cleared by his boss, so no guarantees. I dont think we're going to do much with services like 6k and 7.5k's. That will most likely just be normal like in the past. Its different per bike, 2V and 4V, and also depends on the amount of adjustment needed. If you guys call in to the shop, talk to Larry, he's still there. Hope you guys pass the word that I'm back, and I hope to see you and your bikes soon. Title: Re: Ducati Tech no longer at the Harley Store Post by: flynbulldog on April 25, 2011, 08:00:27 AM That's too bad, the cost for the valve adjust is out of sight these days.
at the current rate - I'll be doing my own. |
