This one is uses accelerometers mounted on the bike to determine impact and/or bike getting sideways and deploys airbag/vest system via wireless interface:

I have a Hit-Air, love it. Hopefully I never have to use it, but the full neck protection alone is worth the cost of the jacket.
Another Hit-Air fan chiming in. Have the MX-5 mesh jacket and like it.
Hmmm....
What are the statistics on bodily injuries in motorcycle accidents? These items offer no protection for the lower body.
My girlfriend was in a nasty wreck: car turned left in front of her while she was traveling 50 mph. She suffered no injuries to her upper body, but several compound fractures in both legs. In her case, a jacket like this would have had no effect.
For whatever reason, the airbag jacket brings out the naysayers, of course this doesn't protect your legs, it's a JACKET! [roll] Do you have a jacket that also protects your legs? [bang] With YOUR logic, why do you even wear a jacket? It doesn't protect your legs! Did you know that your helmet doesn't protect your legs either! ??? Nothing is going to protect you in every situation. I spent $200 over and above a nice textile jacket for the airbag protection. If you look at the neck, chest and back protection it offers, to me, it is well worth it.

I think you read too much into my post. I'm not a naysayer, I was simply wondering what percentage of injuries are to the upper and lower body.
Thanks for the dose of sarcasm though, I hadn't any yet today.
