Dolph
did someone kick that front end hard so that it regurgitated the exhaust? [laugh]
looks unbalanced. the front is so massive, back so puny.
the SSS seems pointless when you cover the wheel with the exhaust
that said, i'll stick with a monster

At your house, or at the dealer? [thumbsup]
Sucks I've decided I need to wait to buy one of these....:(
That's not a very flattering angle.
Or maybe the bike just isn't pretty... :P
And yes, "unbalanced" is definitely a thing it appears to have in spades.
(That said, all the best to Ducati. Hope they sell a shit ton of 'em...)
Just the fax mam...Diavel is dead even w, the VMax 0-100 mph ( 6.00 sec. ) and is a fraction of a second off at 120 mph ( 8.69-8.66 sec. ) w, the mighty V Max.
High Handle Bars in comparison to Monsters, low seat compared to most bikes other than H-D types and some Cruiser types.
I think the photo is kind of distorted. Makes the bike look more front end heavy.

Check the OP , it has another photo that may give you a better perspective .

Nice Dolph! Did you ride it at all? Would you buy one?
I see you have great tastes in bikes, 1098 S1000RR. All my dreams haha

I have not ridden one.
I'd like to think my taste in bikes is good.
I will ride one once one becomes available in the next Month.
If I like it I may get one.
I don't really want 4 bikes but am having a hard time thinking about parting w, my GT....it's such a great bike in it's own right.

They made it look like that so that those of you who don't like the looks of the current Monsters would think to yourselves "You know what? Now that I think about it, the Monster doesn't look that bad..."
BC.
The passenger peg kinda looks like a kick starter.
It's looks are polarizing but I would still ride one.
Right now the only people allowed to ride these things are Ducati employees. They had 5 riding around Daytona to get the Harley crowds interested. From what I heard, they were more confused than anything else. They could see the Ducati badges, but couldn't understand what it was.
Personally, I was able to see what it could do during a spirited ride, 2 up going through turns and keeping up with some bikes that should have smoked it. It's definitely a "butter face". The passenger pegs and the grab bar are slick.
It looks better with a person on it... the visual weight of the rider balances some of that massive frontal area.

Then a turn comes and mighty V Max drags hard parts whilst he Diavel powers on!
I say, if it turns you on, go get it!
Dolph, if you fall in love with it when you test ride it but want to keep a three-bike garage, which bike goes away?
It's also much more comfortable than my Monster.
second picture is much better.

It will have to be the GT I'm sad to say . :'(
Every time I ride the GT, which isn't that often, I fall in love w, it all over again.

That's an Italian guy that just picked his up a week ago this past weekend.
He's not a very tall person, although I'm not sure of his height.
But you get a much better perspective of the bike in relation to it's size w, a rider on it.

that may be true but from everything I hear, the acceleration is whats really insane. 2nd fastest accelerating production vehicle ever made, .14 seconds slower than a Veyron 0-60.
the fact that theyve also taken in to account bizzare road aberrations that most cruisers dont (corners) is also pretty nice.
design wise its not my thing, but as with the multi 1200 im guessing its going to be a bike that you hate until you throw a leg over it.
As w/ almost every other model, Termi cleans the exhaust/wheel are up with a little carbon shortie.
Saw it on a "Carbon" edition in Daytona. Looks good, sounds better.
Hold up there guys, I've already started delivering Diavels to customers and so far they have all been new to the brand which lets face it can only be good for the rest of us ducati fans in that it stokes Ducati's bank balance. Almost every one who take a demo ride come back raving about the whole package and it really is better in the flesh than the photo's plus the shorty termi looks the "DOG'S".
Yesterday a real hard core Harley guy "one of many!!" demo'ed the Diavel, he had a really trick blue and orange (gulf oil racing colours) V-Rod and when I left with my delivery he was in deep conversation with the sales guy so hopefully another convert.
To my mind its like a lot of ducati's in that the appeal of the latest bike grows on you and in time you end up getting one I know that I've done it twice, first with the hypermotard and more recently with my new streetfighter so don't right the Diavel off just yet. I've not had a proper ride on it yet as its spring service time over here in the UK and I'm working flat out collecting and returning bikes to customers but when I do get time and have a blast on the Diavel I'll let you know how I feel about it... :-\... ;) ;)

All the best.

...Some things just shouldn't be mixed...
I can see it....the day that I never thought would happen is drawing closer....the day when ape hangers would be put on a Duc... :'(
...even closer draws the attention of the 'con-vert' rider with a set of leather chaps, a skull cap, and prison ink...
[bang]
chaps and replica WW2 german helmets with the spike on the top with the corsa logo on it will be the next high priced ducati accessories that are the "must have" items. bring em on.!! [clap]

i liked the bike in person but I'm NOT giving up my dream of the new Multi and certainly not trading my Electra Glide which I can cruise on for months on in. The latter is a slow, fat pig but dam she's comfy and a pleasure to ride. When the Multi dream is realized I'll see about them demons called Diavel.
might have saw one in London tonight! any other bikes have the similar twin vertical lights in the rear?

Relax, dude, no one's gonna take away your Monster. I'm excited about Geoff's news that the bike is doing what it was intended to do: draw new buyers to the brand. The more cash Ducati pulls in, the more they can spend developing what matters to me: superbikes! [evil]

I don't know where you got that info. ...but it's screwy !
Ducati 1098 does 0-60 mph, 2.5 seconds claims Ducati
Porsche 911 Turbo S 0-62 mph, 2.9 seconds Car and Driver
Bugatti Veyron 0-62.1 mph, 2.5 seconds Wikipedia
Ducati Diavel 0-60 mph, 3.10 seconds MCN Magazine test between the Diavel and the VMax

Thanks swampduc thats exactly what I was trying to point out, at this moment in time I've no interest in buying a Diavel as I love my ducati's but one day in the future my opinion may change so I'll always leave that door open just in case... [moto]
I have no problem with the Harley guys because as they say "we're all different" (thank god) but at the end of the day we're all bikers and should stick together because theres a lot of folks out there that would love to see us off the road so just remember theres strength in numbers... [thumbsup]

Hey there Mate Geoff,
Me thinks the H-D riders might be different in England than over here where they were " founded ! "
You had " Mods and Rockers " as the Gangs running around in London what on Scooters ?
We had ( have ) the H-D Gangs.
Hell's Angels, Mongols, Devil's Disciples, etc.
Real BAD guys..... [evil]
