Lois is the kind of young woman most of the dudes on this forum dream about. She is: is smart, rides, has flaming red hair, writes books, and is beautiful. I found her two books, Lois on the Loose and Red Tape and White Knuckles to be the sort of book that you can't put down but when you get near the end you want to put on the brakes. I'd become attached to Lois during my reading and I didn't want our friendship to end. Her first book "on the loose" describes her solo ride from Alaska to Argentina on an 225 Yamaha. A very personal and often funny account of her very brave adventure in which I learned the value of carrying a duplicate set of documents for when you are stopped by bandits dressed as police. The second book "Red Tape" describes her solo trip down the length of Africa. A much more perilous trip than the first. Armed only with her quick whit and luck she avoids disaster in some of the most dangerous places on the planet. I loved these books and highly recommend them to anyone that rides. Lois also has a very interesting web site at http://www.loisontheloose.com/ (http://www.loisontheloose.com/) check it out.
Oh, and the bad news is that Lois is now married.
Is this the first DMF book review?
I'm ordering one based on your review. Good work!!!
Really, sounds like a great read. She's a beauty all right, but clearly far beyond just that.
Thanks!!
Edit: There's a DVD!!
Edit 2: I ordered both books
Sound like good reads. [thumbsup]
Ladies on the Loose! Part 4 of the Motorcycle Adventure Travel Guide series (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIDSoL5qYDw#normal)
You guys won't be disappointed with the books. I haven't seen her video yet. Post a review if you get a chance to see it. I loaned my daughter, that doesn't ride, the books. She found Lois inspiring as a fellow young woman with courage and intelligence. She's had the books a year, damn it, need to get them back.
Thanks for the heads up; I think these are great for my daughter. She's just beginning to show an interest and this may inspire her! [thumbsup]
Lois was invited to speak at Femmoto in Vegas a few years ago. She's an entertaining story-teller! [thumbsup]
Will put her books on the list, thanks for the recommendation!
