Hello everyone,
I have a 2007 s4r testastretta and am looking for a new exhaust system. I have found the motocreation boomtube exhausts and was wondering if anyone has this installed on their bike to see if I could get any info or reviews. From what I have researched they look and sound very nice on the bike and are unique compared other brands. If anyone has any recommendations or info that would be great! Also if you do could you let me know where you purchased them and how easy installation was? Thanks a ton.

they are sick and i hate you for having a newer S4R that they still build them for. they are custom fit from the header for your bike and sound like pure evil. i think they are the coolest exhaust for the monster . . .
Just installed mine on a 696. It's obviously louder then stock pipes, not bad for short trips but can make your ears bleed for longer trips...hour+. They don't quite have that ducati sound to them either, but don't take that in a bad way. It's sounds more like a highly modified race bike sound but with a bit of v-twin thump to it. I just wish I had a bigger engine to back up the sound. It's definily unique and you won't be unhappy with them. Your neighbors might be though ;)
So they definitely have more a much deeper sound than the other full systems like arrow or termignoni?

yes, i just don't think the 696 engine is gonna produce the same level of rumble . . . see above citation of boomtubes in effect on the bigger engine, no racebikey sound there
I took a video of mine a long while ago but I'll re-post here. this is on my S2R800 so sound comparison might a good reference to the other post since you want to know the difference in sound between lower displacement and higher. Mine is definitely not that deep...

I would definitely agree with xskiervh's comments.
Sweet thanks for all the info! For only a little over $1,000 it is a lot cheaper than any other full exhaust out there, and they look and sound amazing.

thanks for posting that! 696? swing arm conversion?
how is this different than just cutting the exhaust right before that ugly shaped thing right at the bottom of the bike in front of the rear wheel
If I would do that, would I run into any problems with the bike running smoothly? would it sound like complete ass?

Yes and yes.
Even on the 696 that sound so mean!

awesome, second person ive seen do that. if you dont mind, what did it run you? 800 for the arm and 400 for the wheel?

Extremely loud, not smooth, VERY lean (= engine-damaging heat), loosing power.
The Boom Tubes are not just straight pipes.

800 for the swingarm, 700 for the rim. Plus longer brake line and other misc oem parts you may need such as the plastic pieces that mount/route the brake line and speedometer line to the underside of the swingarm. Mine didn't come with this :/

Could you elaborate?

Cut pipes....
Almost like no pipes at all - extremely loud
Exhaust will escape too easily and there won't be enough fuel in the cylinder to cool down the head/valves. (= damage)
A four stroke engine needs exhaust resistance to run well - if it doesn't have that, it won't be smooth and it will lose power.
BoomTubes....
There is some resistance and sound damping, which makes them much better than cut pipes.
(more or less accurate)

From what I gather there is thin to zero baffling in the boomtubes...and it seems that there are a number of ways to baffle and/or provide back pressure to straight pipes...not trying to be contrary just honestly curious because the boomtubes look awesome but there doesn't seem to be much more to them than than what straight/cut pipes plus some exhaust tips would provide...

Maybe you're right.
I was talking about straight/cut pipes with no tips.
Where is Mark on this question?
I think Boomtubes look cool.
I also think that this cool almost certainly comes at a cost to power. Although I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
Anybody?
[laugh] If you're really concerned about power, you have the wrong bike.
I have the airbox off my bike and I have Boom Tubes. I think I can feel a little less power on the top-end. So what? It's a streetbike and it'll hit 100mph in short order. You really don't need more than that (let alone that much) for a streetbike.

If you want top-end power, get a GSXR-1000. With a little tuning it'll smoke most any Ducati in the lineup. :)

I'm not concerned at all about making absolute max HP,
very happy with what I already got 8).
Just sayin' that
perhaps boomtubes cost a little power....

Seems like you think so too.

They make make a pony or two less, but there's a significant reduction in weight, which I think may more than offset this. Actual testing hasn't been done (that I know of) to see how it stacks up on the dyno. I wish I could test it, but I don't have easy access to one
