I just had to publically thank MadDuc 20/20 - he just rode over to my office to give me a new set of levers and wouldn't even take anything for them [bow_down] [bow_down] [bow_down] [clap] I definitely own you a beer or three [beer]
Thanks also to Sad Panda for exceptionally helpful (and patient) answers to my many questions, here's one for you too [beer]
Josh
that's what we're all about....that's how we roll!
Awesome. [clap]
That's how we roll on the TL board too, but I haven't seen this sort of thing on many other places. I'm happy to have found DMF and look forward to meeting y'all and contributing to the commuty as well. Who knows, I might even nab a ducati of my own once I get some student loans paid down a little. I demo'd a hypermotard and really liked it. Maybe y'all could tolerate a TL1000S in your mids till then (or I'll steal the wife's monster) - it sounds rather nice (90 deg twin with gear driven cams).
BikePilot - It was my pleasure to give them to someone who could use them. Let me know if you're looking for anything else. Have low mount exhaust cans in mint condition I need to unload and some other bits here and there.

Oh they are fun... but they make one do naughty naughty things.
And you're welcome - but really, like Zoom said, that's how the DMF rolls. It's a bunch of mostly good, and smart eggs here. Good signal to noise ratio if you will. And yeah, there's a lot of other boards that are mostly 'Yeeeh haw look at how fast I rode my CBusaSXR-RRRRrrrrrr arrrrra in a deadstraight line when running from the cops!' - but this ain't one.
And you'll find that while we do like our Monsters and Ducs, this a pretty equal opportunity crowd, 'cept for harleys ;D
the TL sound is one to me that commands a certain attention, as it has a resonance that is unique ( especially when fitted with a proper set of Yosh cans)...so it is fine to see and hear one of those to me...
as far as how this group generally is....it seems to be a quality that happens in small subsection communities though as apposed to major boards like .net for example....

hmmm...funny to hear/see that comment from a guy who brought a Harley chic once...LOL ;)

I wasn't gonna point fingers... but yeah it was those guys :)

Two actually. And they know what I think about those things
I don't like riding with TLs.
I hate being the slowest bike out there :D I keed I keed, more the merrier and welcome to the Board. MadDuc's a good guy, even if he does insist on totaling his bike a few days after you install his wheel stripes.
BikePilot - Get to know Artful even though he lives in Balmore. I'm convinced he can pretty much wrap/design anything.
Artful - Are you potentially around this weekend for a wrapping party?

I'm watching the MotoGP race at a riding buddy's house on Sunday, check out the Baltimore Area Ducati Facebook group for details. If you show up for that I could probably slap some vinyl. What do you have to do?
I suppose after pregnant doging about the CAM folks all being too far south I should realy look at this B.A.D. group mentioned so often.
meh.
maybe tomorrow.

Thanks all. The TL does sound nice, mine has a full akra evo ti highmount system. I'm taking it apart this spring to grease all chassis bearings and replace the wiring harness. I rode it year-round for 60k miles and its taken a beating [laugh]
Its faster than I am which isn't saying a huge amount. Bested a 998 at a dyno day but a 999+ would kill it.
The Hyper definitely does encourage holiganism. I it seems almost a requirement that acceleration be made on the rear wheel only and deceleration on the front only. I'll need a bit of practice before I get the hang of the Xaus-style thumbs up. [thumbsup]

put some Excel 17" hoops laced to some stock hubs on that XR and work on that with that tool!...
Its definitely crossed my mind. For now I plan to toss some scorpion AT's on an extra wheelset and ride it on the road while my TL is getting fixed up. I'd do 17's but I plan to ship the XR to SoCal soon so its staged for impromptu assaults on baja. The bike is a bunch of fun though and I'm contemplating getting another as a full-time street 'tard. Just not sure if I have the self control to stay out of trouble. [roll]
I remember reading a review of the Aprillia SVX 550 that started with the reviewer having dreams of jumping traffic islands, riding down stairs, running from the cops and getting up to all sorts of bad behavior - naughty motard machines!

the best away to stay out of trouble is to make sure you can escape it when it comes lookin for you!...LOL...J/K
I used to cut through campus on my DR250 at times - that included a flight of stairs. [evil]
I'd probably have gotten in trouble, but the thought of a dirt bike flying down a set of stairs at a fancy ivy school was so foreign I think people just didn't know how to respond [thumbsup]

That's awesome! I love that "deer in the headlights" look of student when I come flying up toward the crosswalk. You'd think these kids never saw the Power Rangers when they were growing up...oh, wait, they probably didn't they're so young.
