Title: Tail Chop Before and After
Post by: DuctheMonster on March 20, 2011, 12:42:02 AM
Got the ducati monster tail chop kit with the stealth plate bracket. After almost 30 minutes with the dullest hack saw I have ever seen and then about 15 actually assembling everything it was done. Also have the motodynamic integrated smoked brake light. Hopefully it looks as good to everyone else as it does to me  [bow_down]

Looks good 'cept that plate might be a problem for you depending on your local PD's expectations.

I say it's worth a try, and if worst comes to worst..I'll move it up...but I love it way down there it just completes the whole clean look...

damn that looks sexy  [drool]

does the plate flip? or is that the fixed position?

Fixed, but the bracket has some bend so the plate can be more flush to the mud guard or vertical.

I almost bought that same tail light or the Clear Alternatives but I went with this instead;

http://www.t-motorsports.com/product/ducati-monster-m-400-600-900-s2-s4-smoke-led-tail-light-lt-mt194-smoke/ (http://www.t-motorsports.com/product/ducati-monster-m-400-600-900-s2-s4-smoke-led-tail-light-lt-mt194-smoke/)

way cheaper...I really gotta wonder if its the exact same made in China part. Its on the way right now so we shall see I spose

Does yours have a clear lens underneath for illuminating the plate?

So I took the license plate light off the beer tray and then attached it to the bracket that came with the kit. So the light is still there.

I got my powder coated short bracket from them recently and I can attest that its a quality product, instructions are excellent, and shipping was quick. The only thing I'm not particularly thrilled with are the frame plugs, they're kinda cheesy, I used the end caps from a set of handle bars instead.

Thats a really good question, care to blast through an EZ pass toll lane and let us know if you get a ticket in the mail?

Thanks for letting my spy your handiwork.

Here is my ghetto 5 dollar bracket.
The tail light is from T-Motorsports on ebay. $35 shipped. recommended

I think it looks best flush with the seat. I flushed it up after the pic.

Ok I just noticed this now, what did you use for plugs after you cut the frame? It looks like you stuck some ammo casings in there whatever it is it looks sick haha

Not really a tail chop. Slim carbon fiber tail piece from Monster Parts with Rizoma blinkers.
