Title: Suspension Setup - Shout out
Post by: Flipside725 on June 13, 2008, 06:57:33 AM
Special shout out to Steve over at European Cycle for doin an absolutely sick job on my suspension last weekend.[thumbsup]  It makes a world of difference when your suspension is set up correctly.

You would need to speak Steve or Aldren about price, their prices are fair.  The reason to go there is the knowledge.  Steve , amongst his other qualifications is Ohlins trained and Jay brings in fhis knowlege from BCM.  What you are paying for is the tuning and getting it right for the individual, and they shine at that.

Oh, I am not trying to sound cheap when asking about prices. I was curious if it would fit in the bike budget this month, 200-300 is fine by me and it needs to be done with the twitchy front of the hyper.

I didn't think you were being cheap asking about prices.  My apologies if you got that impression.  .  Basic set up, i'm sure (sag, preload, compression, rebound),  would fit into your budget.  The range would vary depending on what needs to be done.  If you need to go new springs, valving, etc it will cost a lot more.

Suspension is always $$$. I think ECS' labor rate is 80 an hour. So depending on what you want to get done and what parts you buy. I picked up Race tech springs, racetech valves + i think it was a 4 hour job or something. I cant remember. But the price is fair when you think about it. Steve and Jay are probably the best ducati mechanics in the whole northeast. Maybe even the US, and if you are willing to wait, they will fit you in for a 1 day turnaround since they stock everythng on hand. I think steve was named DUcati Mechanic of the year by DNA?

The price was totally fair. I called 3 weeks in advance and made an appointment for first thing on a saturday. drove the bike up fri afternoon, picked her back up saturday around 2pm. really quick turnaround. they did an awesome job...i got the works so it was $$$, but i was expecting it to be $$$. I'm definitely going back there for future mods.
