Looking for Cam timing specs. opening, closing degrees etc. Bike is an '07 MTS 1100 DS, with factory stock cams. have been to Brads site, He only lists the 1000DS specs., are they the same? If so I get radically differnt readings. Any info will help, thanks KRJ.
I don't know if they're the same, but aren't cam timing specs given with 0 clearance? I think they are.
Unless you adjusted to zero you would get different numbers.
All of Brad's stuff is given at 1mm lift/clearance.
Your MTS1100 has a different part# for the cams than an S2R1000.
From Brad's notes on the cams:
"DP DS1000 is the Ducati Performance cam to suit the 1000 and 1100DS engines. There are two versions of this cam, due to the fact they are physically different. I believe one has a longer snout on the drive end, but am not sure which is which. The profile is the same on both."
That would explain the different part numbers between the two OEM cams.
DP,I checked the timing at 1.0mm as noted in Brads article, and using the lobe centerline method, had exactly the same reading on both cyl.. A nice surprise at 17,000 miles, and yes I adj. valve clearence prior. Speedog, I read that and am wondering if the stock cams between the 1000 and the 1100 share the same profile also, or just the DP parts. And if Brads specs. during His tests are the same as the '07 1100ds? The results I am getting are 9deg before, 67deg after on intake, yeilding a 119 cen.line, any more info would be great.
