Title: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: A.duc.H.duc. on March 29, 2011, 04:12:58 AM You know one of those great stories of the DMF...
Anyway, I'm looking at buying a Sport Classic out in the bay area, but I'm in Michigan. Is there anyone out that way that would be willing to at least take a look at the bike for me? Justin Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: Spidey on March 29, 2011, 07:35:51 AM Location? The Bay Area is a big place.

Is it this one? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/2289548522.html (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/2289548522.html)
Or the one at Hattar? Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: A.duc.H.duc. on March 29, 2011, 10:28:57 AM Spidey,
It's that one. There's also one in san mateo that I'm a little less interested in. Justin Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: Spidey on March 29, 2011, 12:48:39 PM That's in mostrobelle's and enzo's backyard.

Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: mostrobelle on March 29, 2011, 02:36:33 PM That's in mostrobelle's and enzo's backyard. 'Tis true... OP, get all the details worked out and let me know. And I mean aaaaaaaallll the details. Last excursion I did for a friend of a friend likes this, turned out the seller wouldn't let anyone test ride it and buyer was assuming seller would go a lot lower than she would. I blew more than a couple of hours on a bike that didn't get bought for a six pack of cheap beer--and I don't drink beer. It was cool getting to know the guy n all, but I'm a busy and very important person. That's what I keep telling myself anyways. Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: Spidey on March 29, 2011, 03:12:40 PM I drink cheap beer. ;D
And FTR, I've seen mostrobelle drink beer. "found" beer, to be exact. What's that? It's when she wanders around the bar drinking all the beer she "finds" left over in the bottoms of glasses from folks who already left the bar. Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: A.duc.H.duc. on March 30, 2011, 03:54:08 AM Ouch Belle, Spidey really sold you out.
I'll try to get all the rest of the details, price really is already worked out, so it wouldn't be anything like that. Really I'm just hoping for a trustworthy person, and the DMF is full of those, to got make sure the bike really is what the seller says it is. I'm likely to come get the bike myself, instead of ship it as I have friends in the bay area. Unfortunately they know absolutely nothing about motorcycles. Thanks in advance if you do end up checking this bike out for me. I am still talking to the seller about that bike in San Mateo as well. It's at an impound lot, so that could be interesting. Justin Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: mostrobelle on March 30, 2011, 09:38:59 AM I guzzle beer with other people's saliva in it for entertainment. I wouldn't say that I "drink" it. And I'm not worried about Spidey. He only tries to highlight my cute eccentricities to draw attention away from his own glaring imperfections as a human. It's the norm around here. [cheeky]
You can PM or call with the details when you get them--posting them up here is fine too. I check frequently. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: MendoDave on April 02, 2011, 04:55:15 PM Spidey is just Joking about the BA being a big place. He doesn't mind taking a look out in Fairfield for instance. Its just around the corner from his house and he's probably not really busy anyway. Belle seems to like wine, so If you want her to look at it just send her a case of good Bordeaux, and if its more than 5 minutes away 2 cases.
OK if you get this gig you better share some with me, Alright! Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: Joebay on April 05, 2011, 07:29:56 PM Ouch Belle, Spidey really sold you out. Justin Interesting like "its how much to get it out?!?!?!" Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: Drunken Monkey on April 05, 2011, 11:18:08 PM Beware, a friend of a friend of the DMF in the Bay Area just recently encountered an impound fee (in San Mateo) of over $8K.
So it'd suck to buy a "bargain" bike only to realize you just purchased the rights to a huge impound fee. Title: Re: Looking for a favor DMF style Post by: mostrobelle on April 06, 2011, 03:30:10 PM So where does the need for this favor stand? :)

So it'd suck to buy a "bargain" bike only to realize you just purchased the rights to a huge impound fee. They bought it out of impound. And yes, that was indeed the bike. 50,000 miles on it, but they were asking a ridiculous sum. I'd stay away from it. |
