So the weather is finally starting to get consistently over 50 degrees in Maryland, even if we can't string three dry days together to save our lives. I know folks that participated in the DMF Giveaway are curious when I'll be delivering on my promise of a Power Rangers-esque episode on the streets of Baltimore so I wanted to create this thread to keep everyone up to date. There will be NO spoilers posted here other than perhaps some photos from production or an outtake or two.

3-30 Update:
- Suit has arrived and fits well. Helmet doesn't fit that great but well enough to shoot this in it then sell

- Downloading Season One of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Season 1 you ask? You bet your ass, we're doing this old skool.

- Movie is storyboarded, filling in dialogue

- Rounding up production crew and extras (local volunteers welcome - you won't have to do anything embarrassing other than read a few lines and ride a motorcycle)

For anyone interested in being an extra:

- I only NEED two but could use up to four.
- You don't have to "dress up like a Power Ranger" but you do need a bare minimum of gloves, boots, jacket, and helmet. Leather pants encouraged
- Filming is going to hopefully be accomplished in one day, weather could shit all over that of course.
- Everything is being shot in and around Baltimore, MD.
- All you would be doing is reading a few lines and riding a motorcycle on film.

Few plumbing projects are taking precendence for the next few days. When one thing leaks, suddenly all things leak. Three valves and a utility sink all hobbled together by the PO are getting hacked out and replaced hopefully tomorrow then all the shower hardware. I'll cut this thing all tomorrow if any plumbers want to do all of this for me pro bono :)

Did the last few voiceovers get done this weekend?

I was working on the plumbing from 9am to 3 am both days. It's done now though so I should hopefully get to the video Wednesday, or at least getting the last part shot. Life kinda crapped on my schedule in the past two weeks. It's hard to make time to get this done when I can't shower or take a dump in my house.

That's what buckets are for. They're like $5 down at HomeDepot.

Only update for now is that my new work laptop is here and I'm learning the new version of Premiere. I've always cut in Linux but my Ubuntu laptop won't handle HD video (it's 6 years old, so not shocking).

I'm more pissed and annoyed than anyone that this isn't done yet, but life has been absolutely insane for the past two months. I haven't even ridden the bike in three weeks where I usually commute at least four days a week. I'm just too tired.

I didn't die so it's being worked on when I find the time. My grandmother did though, so I've been handling estate matters and taking care of her thirty acre property in addition to my own patch of 'hood heaven. I think this thread has been around long enough to qualify for some folklore treatment.

okay....all jokes aside...Artful has had some big stuff on his plate that slid this to the side in order of importance...for what he is actually dealing with, we need to cut him some slack and just leave it be...trust me on this...there is no need to get into details, but as someone who put time in to be in the film itself, I can attest and vouch...

I'm sure there's a legitimate reason for the delay. As one of the fools that was out in Baltimore participating in the ridiculous filming of this soon-to-be viral video, I can say that it DID happen and it's just a matter of time until it's complete ;)

Hey guys -

Time for an update. The video is essentially done minus some editing for cleanliness. My goal is to release it as a Christmas present to the DMF.

I'm not here to make excuses and I won't, I appreciate any and all patience you guys have shown. I also understand the frustration that it isn't posted and we aren't all laughing about it by now. I shot Zooom a personal email explaining what is going on in my life at the moment, suffice it to say that it's too personal to post the details here. The short version is that there has been one death in the family and unless a miracle happens there will be another one. My family and I have been supporting itself and frankly it is taking up a lot of time. The real burden though has been mental. I'm not in the best of places right now and you may have noticed that I've been very absent from the site in the past few months. I haven't even started the bike in the past two months let alone ridden it.

Again, this isn't forgotten and I have broad shoulders and can take plenty of ribbing. Please just understand that as much as I love the site, it has to take a back seat this time.

Because the suit was awarded to me based on this video and I've dropped the ball, even though the video will be done shortly I'm forfeiting the suit. If there are any other folks out there that are ~210 lbs, 6'1" with a 34" inseam, keep an eye on this space.

Sorry to hear times are tough.

+1 to taking care of your fam and personal life first, and plus... there were many mentions of monkey ball sweat + that suit in this thread.  if anything, the suit should probably be donated to the CDC by now as opposed being labeled fit for human use.  not to mention that that missing bacon was almost def used to line that suit at some point. ;)

after some quick consideration, i actually wouldnt feel that bad about some good ol' demeaning and menial demands however.  perhaps something like wearing a thong and large EE bra on the outside of the suit on your next trackday.  and not being allowed to tell anyone why you're doing it.  the brighter the colors the more points scored  [thumbsup]

Artful, my condolences, and I'm glad you're able to take care of your family.  We're here for you, regardless of the final-edit-video.
