Hi Guys......
I am naive. I had my wallet stolen last night from under my nose in my cab. I am so pissed at the moment, I could spit nails, Ah hell I could spit railroad spikes.Check book, debit cards, driver license, social security card( yeah I dont need the lecture but I had to show it to my new employer earlier) All kinds of other shit as well. I am so upset by this not because I feel they have stolen from me but because I trust everyone. I dont use drugs or steal or do things wrong so It just does not dawn on me that people would want to do this .Its shit. [bang]
hope you get it all replace without much hassle
that make the beast with two backsing sucks.
best of luck!
At least you don't carry your birth certificate too!
All joking aside... get that SS card changed/replaced ASAP!
BGB - that totally sucks. [thumbsdown] Hope you get it all handled quickly.
For every good person out there who wouldn't do that there are 3 or 4 others that would. The pregnant dog is sometimes it's easy to tell who they are... sometimes it's not. Sorry for your loss. Hope no ID theft trouble awaits down the road. Even happened to a judge at the criminal courthouse I worked at. She foolishly had her bank check order mailed to her house instead of her bank for pick up. You guessed it... swiped out of her mail box. Or from the post office itself by an employee. It happens. Every crook knows what a box of personal checks looks like. I'm sure they cranked out a fake ID and started writing checks all over town. Drained her account then came months and months of damage control.
Again, sorry for the BS and I hope it is just a minor hassle and aggravation. Lesson learned. [bang]
Don't like! [thumbsdown]
>:(
I think today is a good day to take time off and get that SS card changed pronto!

Hi Guys......
I am naive. I had my wallet stolen last night from under my nose in my cab.[bang]
How does that even happen?
How do you share a cab with people you don't know?
Or are you driving a cab, and let a fare sit in the front seat next you, and they lifted your wallet somehow?
Did they pay with cash, or credit?
BC.
Jeez Erica, that just blows. I tend to trust people too and living where I do
most people are good folks, but then there is the 1 in 20 that's a make the beast with two backstard and
makes me hate humanity. I wish you the best, hope it all works out.
I am the cab driver, my purse was between the two front seat where I can keep an eye on it. I had three stooges in the back seat and one of them had light fingers. Its really inconvenient because now I have to jump through lots of hoops to get everything sorted and spending forever "on hold " with various govt agencies, banks etc is gonna be my life for the next day or two..... [bang]
It will get sorted but its just more drama I did not need. My life is like Survivor,American Idol and Ru Pauls Drag Race all rolled into one. Someone stop the magic roundabout please I would like to get off and just have a normal quiet boring life.
Has anyone looked into "Life Lock" or any similar services? I've looked into it briefly but I don't know how much it helps. If it works well, might be a small price to pay for identity security.
First call should be to the credit reporting agencies to put a fraud alert on your SSN.

Heard the CEO had his identity stolen a few times when he started that advertising campaign. Kind of embarrassing.
called transunion and spoke to a lovely gentleman in India. Anyway they will only put a 90 day hold on the credit report unless I send them the police report. Now for the fun part.... They will not take the police report number they must have the actual copy of the police report. So I call the police records dept and they said to come down. I cannot get into the building to get the report because it is a secure building and I have no picture ID because it was in my wallet which was stolen. I was told to go to DMV but not to drive there because technically at the moment I dont have a lisence because it was stolen, and if I get stopped for whatever reason then I get a ticket. Ever feel like the system is against ya?????
So, drama aside, I am gonna go to DMV get a copy of my license for $14.00 , go to the cop shop and spend another $10.00 for a copy of the theft and then send that off to Transunion. Tomorrow I sit in the social security office and try and sort that mess out.And then there is Wells Fargo. I called them at 2am and was helped by aperson that proves that you can live without a brain. He did not want to help me because I did not have my bank account number, did not know how much my last deposit was or when I did it. He asked why I dont have the info .I told the guy it was in my wallet which was stolen.......Welll I need that info to help you he says. I asked him to contact the thief and ask for that info and the guy says there is no need to be rude.I exploded!I am done with them too, it seems sometimes I can't win for losing. Oh well gotta run to DMV.
Be well
BGB.
^^So frustrating!!!! [bang]
Good luck with all the logistics and especially the patience you'll need getting through all the red tape!!!!!!
Sorry to hear the bad news. If you have a passport getting your other IDs, bank stuff and entry into government buildings much easier.
Damn! BGB, I hope this all works out for you. Other than that, hopefully you enjoy your new job and it's going alright. Just a thought and it may/may not apply to you. Some Homeowners Insurance policies include some protection/assistance re: identify theft. It's time for some good luck now, yes?
