Are again considering importing our Holdens to the states, but not under the Pontiac (which doesn't exist anymore) G8 badge and even considering the ute aka the 'El Camino'.

Believe it when you see it I suppose. I'd love a new ute. [drool]
Is there a market in the States for 4D RWD V8 Sedans/Sportwagons/Utes?
I had a '75 Ranchero GT back in the late '90s. Loved that thing, I built a relatively mild 400 for it and it surprised more than a few unsuspecting souls plus could haul the random bike or pile of parts around.
If I could buy a late-model version with AWD and mileage in the low-20s (or better) I'd be all over it. [thumbsup]
I don't think there would an AWD version. ???
They did have an AWD model a few years back but I don't think it sold that well.
My ex father in law has a 59 Ranchero with a 390 in it, he fixed it up beautifully. [thumbsup]
I'd love a "ute" here in the states. It would need to be a v8, either high displacement (400ci+) or turbo'd with variable vanes... I would also go for an inline-six turbo diesel eg the BMW 335d.
Either way, it would need to have some balls, and a suspension that could handle towing a small trailer + junk in the bed.
I also like how some of the aussie ute's had a seperate bed that can be replaced with a flat bed.
