You didn't...

but you did edit your title and changed the spelling.

I just figured an engineering type would go for accuracy, and since it had already been spelled correctly in the thread, it was a no brainer.

You dropped out of/took a break from engineering though...right?

Accuracy in numbers is one thing. spelling is another.

Does everyone really proof read everything they post? or are they all disciplined enough to type slowly and spell things out? Cause I always just let the squiggly red lines tell me the correct spelling....and most of the times i forget to go back and actually fix the spelling cause im too excited to press post...

I am not on a break. all the classes i need were full, except 1 so i am taking 1 class right now.

I just look for the handy red line under the misspelled word...it's really easy. Even a painter can figure it out.

...and believe it or not...

spelling counts...

so calm down. ;D

I guess I missed the 1 class part in another post. Sorry.

Wow.  In my questionable judgement you're over planning this thing!  Hope you have a great ride.  I did something similar years ago but rode to the Mippippissi from the West side.  I read a book by Eddie Harris about his canoe trip down the Mi...aw heck with it. That river.  He started way up in Minnesota I think and canoe'd all the way to the gulf.

eh, the overplaning is because of time. if i had all the time in the world, it owuldnt matter. but because my friend needs to be back on sunday night no matter what the make the beast with two backs, and the shuttle launch is pretty much going to be set in stone as well (pending weather but in april i doubt it will be a problem, so it would only come down to technical difficulties.)

details details??? date? Location? i have to see if we can make it on our 9days. lol Its a LONG stretch.

I'm going to need to find a place to ship a tire to so i can get it changed a long the way. I want the PR3 but all the shops i asked wanted $300 for the tire installed....My rim is completely scratched up from the trackcrash i had, so i dont need a fancy tire changer, a car changer can do it for $20 bucks, ill be fine, ive done it before.

So The first stop will be in ROCKVILLE MARYLAND! My buddy will be joining us i think he just registered his bike.

Anyone in the DC Area is welcome to join! We will be making our way somewhere in DC for a drink and some food.

options../

1) Stay in DC find a cheap motel and get wasted at a local ar
2) Ride as far south as possible and find a motel there so we dont waste a day
3) Shoot for charleston SC and HIGH TAIL IT THERE, and go back to option 2 if possible.

wed basically be superslabbing down and twistying it back up..

Bad weather going down, Bad weather going up.

Today tried to make it home from Johnson City TN to NYC, 524miles. Only made it 380 miles before we had no choice to call it quits. 50 degree weather, absolutely pouring rain + fog.

Gloves have been in water for so long that they are soaked. Feet are soaked, groin and ass is swamped in body juices and freezing.

I wanted to power through it, but when i was unable to move the throttle or use the brake correctly, i gave up. Currently in Martinsburg WV.

Deals gap was INSANE. Scary to say the least. Pegs scraping.

Friend of mine had a get off on Cherohala skyway. Went down on some dirt. He was right behind me, we both went into the corner at the same time, but i bleed off more speed than he thought and he ended up on my ass, picked the bike up, ran off and then went down in some dirt.

Lets just say, that this has been such an insane road trip.

I feel bad cause i kinda feel like it was my fault, but i had no idea he was behind me. He was playing catch up, i was 2nd and following the lead pace. As he caught up he just automatically went into that corner like i was going to gun it out of the apex, but we were just waiting for him to get up to us. Him and the lead were running a much faster pace at the dragon, so i guess his go fast switch was still on.

So did I park it in the corner? I guess I did, i wasnt jamming the brakes or panicking or anything, i was just feeding off the lead guy.

My own rule of thumb is to always be able to clear the corner and never jam up next to a guy unless you know his riding style really well.

It wasn't your fault. I was just bustin'...and I know you feel bad.

I crashed into the back of my good friend due to a difference in perspective...but he was on the brakes ...hard. Still my fault.

You said he was a friend...I figured you rode together.

we both use to ride at the same pace, then i started to pick up the pace on the street, and he started working, but after seeing him in the hospital and then spend $$$ due to that stupid track day crash (which the guy in front of me parked it in) i slowed it down. In my head, there is no need to put that kinda risk on the street. I get my high from Muay Thai now. Hes been bummed from the crash and not riding last year at all. balh blah blah. but thats the jist of it.

I could of prevented it from just waiving him by...if id knew he was behind me. I just found out he was behind me the wrong way. Turning around waiting for him really scared the shit out of me.

I dont know, i know how i felt when i crashed the first...few....times. :P

My tire is out of tread. riding in this POURING rain is SCARY as make the beast with two backs. Also, there is a MICRO hole in my tire. its leaking about a PSI every 2-3 hours.

I guess you could call it that...

How many more miles to home?

well i learned the hard way that when tires go flat, it is more prone to self induced tank slappers.

this would of been a GREAT way to test the pilot road 3!!

BTW: any tricks to keeping hands dry? Even with "waterproof" gloves, they are only waterproof for about 2 hours before they just become a bag of water.

I will say that my Scorpion XDR touring gear is a LIFE SAVER. I spent $700 on the XDR Shock and Awe jacket and pants (their top of the line for both) and ive used the snot out of both of them and theyve never failed to keep me warm and dry.

<snip>

You have the most common tire size.  Call ahead and buy one before heading home.  A little too much for a tire and having to pay for mounting is cheaper than an accident.

take two gallon plastic milk jugs

cut open.

slide spout over handle

voila

ghetto hand guards

use wire/coat hanger to secure.

Of algiers? No, of the boat ride? no, but i have a short video clip of it... I was too busy just enjoying the ferry ride cause i havent been on a boat in almost 5 years, even if it is a dumb ferry.

But ive got tons of pics of the whole trip and a ride report will be done soon!

Thanks DRKWNG, too bad i couldnt meet ya out in rockville!

And ducatiz, i should of done that!!!! i wouldnt of cared how ridiculous it looked cause ive never been that cold in my entire life... my mitts were soaked and it was 45 outside.... :(. Thanks for the offer on the cover but i hardly ever use the think baout covering the bike just because my bike lives in a garage when its not out.
