both rubber dust boots on my front master cylinders have ripped open. i've read that there are no spare parts in production, does this mean i'm screwed?? seems like it would be such an easy, inexpensive fix.
Hmm...I just poked around yoyodyneti.com and found a few different dust boots as well as seal kits. Might be worth giving them a call.
What kinda bike do you have? I guess after a certain year the lawyers got involved so now there are no rebuild kits for a lot of different models. I upgraded to masters from an S2R1000 and they don't make kits for those. I'm having the same problem on my clutch side.
The good news, however, is that if you're going to be putting fresh fluid in every year or two, most masters are obscenely easy to tear down and maintenance, so unless you're frequently riding through sand storms, it shouldn't be an issue.
Could be worth it to try and see if KTM uses similar Brembo masters. Neither Ducati nor Brembo offer a Goldline caliper rebuild kit. KTM uses the same Brembo Goldline calipers for the 2000-2002 Duke II, and they offer a complete rebuild kit for them. Go figure. My thinking is if they use the calipers, they might use the same masters. If they offer a kit for the calipers, they might also offer a kit for the masters. However my concern is, the Duke II uses a single rotor up front, which might mean the master cylinder bore is different, meaning the seals/o-rings would be too. However the dust boots theoretically should be the same. Might be worth doing some detective work on.
i have an '02 620ie. I emailed yoyodyne and never received a reply. So I ended up buying a pair of masters off ebay from an '08 650, same coffin style. However, I didn't know that the switch for the front brake had been moved to the end of the banjo bolt, and, because of the verrrrry tight layout on my woodcraft clip ons, there's not enough room between the headlight bracket and the master for that elongated banjo. I had to put the old front brake master back on :-\ i'm gonna trust Jarvicious on this one and hope there's no sand storms in Brooklyn! On to bigger problems. If anyone needs a nice master brake side or a scuffed up master clutch side with a torn dust boot pm me, i'll sell 'em cheap.

You could use the switch off your old master.
The hydraulic switch on the master you bought is not OEM.

the switch mounts with 2 screws on my oem cylinder next to the pivot bolt and those same holes aren't present on the new master. it was from an '08 695 by the way, typo above, and it's the larger reservoir size, so unless it's supposed to mount in some fashion other than those screws it doesn't look like it belongs there?

I've never seen a coffin use any other mount, nor have I seen a pre 696 style Ducati Monster use a hydraulic switch from the factory. I know nothing about the new gen monsters.
I do usually learn something new every day however.
