"Ducati North America announced today that sales figures for the first quarter of 2011 are up 68% compared to last year’s numbers. The third month in a row of positive sales growth, Ducati’s North American market is clearly recovering from the recession, with all models in the company’s line showing positive growth. Most likely that there will be no bargaining with prices as supply will be limited.

I have a new Yamaha on order, was slated for May delivery, it has already been pushed out to June.Yamaha factory is south of Tokyo and not damaged, Honda has some plants in the north. Sounds like plenty of suppliers of components factories are in the north however. I work for a large manufacturing company, we buy lots of engines from Kubota, we are very concerned about interruptions in supply heading into our busy season. Power, Logistics, ports, containers, shipping, all are truly messed up. Man I feel for those folks. I got other bikes, I can wait, but what a tragedy for the people of Japan. |
