Title: Aprilia Tuono V4 R (167hp Naked)
Post by: junior varsity on April 15, 2011, 06:42:44 AM
I am not the fondest of the "eyes" headlights, but overall I think its a good looking bike. I wish they had chosen something besides yellow for the bike's color in this video, but whatever. Looks like fun, lots of fun. I'm one day going to learn to back it into a turn like this guy (and many others).

Time for Ducati to take the SF1098 and SF1098S, and move towards SF1198 / SF1198S already, and bring with the motor: some of the SP's features.

very nice!  Ducati better step up their game on the naked bikes or I'll be switching over.

like i said in that thread, i really want to like it for the engine and the performance... but it's pretty ugly to me :\

needs more naked, and less plastic all over...

The good news is that no matter what its specs, there's no way it could be uglier than the previous Tuono.

The headlights give it a bit of a "Transformer" look but I could live with that, I suppose, begs for a mod though. I really like the seat/tail of the yellow bike. Very stylish Italian. Good write on the test ride. I should be younger and richer.

Ugh! That is ugly. It is a shame since the RSV is looks great and the Tuono is a mess. In this case I definitely prefer the superbike over the "naked" version. Ugh! why can't they make better looking bikes.

Sounds like a fun ride but aesthetically it's off a smidgen. The nose is just a liiiiiiittle too long. It would benefit greatly from a newer monster headlamp. My photoshop skills are weak however the picture in my head is great.

Performance is prolly pretty freakin awesome but i'll just have to take a lowly little streetfighter thank you.  I will make this sacrifice for the good of all man kind. No No don't stand ...I am but a man who who will make this astronomical and amazingly selfless sacrifice.   [evil]

What is the inner disc by the front brake disc?  Is that for the speedo?

traction control / abs sensor for wheel speed (could be doing the speedometer as well, obviously)

Very cool video!  [thumbsup]

I like it. The front end is a bit odd looking, but the yellow helps with that IMO. All streetfighter-style bikes have an odd front end (including Ducatis). The range also sounds a little disappointing. Looks fantastic otherwise.  [evil]

What i don't understand is why are they calling it a naked?  Naked is not having a headlight assembly, its having a metal bracket holding up a bucket with a light in it.  Naked bikes don't have side scoops. They can call it naked but to me its just a 1/4 faired bike.

Traction control and wheelie control but no ABS? WTF?
Apart from that it's not a bad bike

Traction control and wheelie control but no ABS?

sounds like a nice combination to me, actually.
